Our Visit
Today, we visited My Color Lab where you could receive a personal color diagnosis.
Having recently moved, you can now receive your personal color analysis in a very clean environment.
Upon arriving at My Color Lab, they had prepared a cup of tea for me.
The teacher who diagnoses is a person who has a doctorate degree in design from Hongik University, received a colorist certificate, and is skilled enough to have won an award in a consulting competition. So I feel like I can trust this place.
On the innermost shelf, various cosmetics are displayed. Editor took the ADVANCED course today, so shall we take a look at the process together?
First, if you arrive early, fill out the checklist and have the teacher explain about color. The teacher's diction was so helpful.
After that, I was asked to look at the color cards in front of me and choose three colors that I prefer and three colors that I dislike. On the left are the color preferred, and on the right are the colors I disliked. The consultation considers your overall personal color, and it will especially place particular emphasis on whether the preferred colors suit you well and which tones of those colors complement you the best. For the colors you dislike, the focus of the consultation will be on determining whether they match well with you or not.
Before starting, the consultant firstly diagnosed based on my skin tone, eye color, and hair color. Especially when it came to identifying my eye color in the mirror, it allowed me to get a closer examination of myself.
Then we moved to a different location with a checklist and color cards in hand. In the beginning, the consultant provided an overall assessment for each color, focusing on whether the color is warm toned or cool toned.
Even if you don't know much about colors, it is easy to understand because the consultant compare similar colors!
What was particularly unique was a fabric or cloth that gathered colors representative of each season. When you compared using this, it was convenient as the differences were clearly evident without needing to individually drape each piece of cloth.
Throughout the assessment, the consultant wrote down the results on the diagnostic sheet. When you look at this diagnostic paper later, you can immediately check the personal color.
In case of color beige, which is one of the colors the editor prefers, it suits better when it has a little more white added to the original beige color. When I see my favorite color, my face automatically brightens!
After that, they told me the my best color and second best color. I was on the warm side of spring, but surprisingly, the consultant said vivid color also suits well. Especially, there was hot pink among the colors that I chose as a dislike!
After the color assessment was completed, the consultant brought out seasonal color cards and provided additional explanations. Her thorough analysis was incredibly helpful, and I gained a lot of insight from it.
Then, after that, I tried on accessories like earrings and necklaces, sorting them by color to find ones that matched. I was surprised to hear that earrings and necklaces that I don't usually wear go well together.
After finishing the accessory recommendation, we went back to your original position and sat down. The consultant took out a booklet and explained in more detail.
Next, we move on to makeup recommendations. The consultant recommended a palette that aligns with the results of the personal color assessment and is suitable for everyday use. Additionally, she suggested some palette colors that I don't usually use but could consider incorporating. From the pictures alone, it seems like the palette colors range from hot pink to navy, which might be unfamiliar to you.
I applied the makeup to just one eye and use a mirror to compare the differences between both eyes. Even though the recommended colors were not ones I usually favor, they still suited well!
