Our Visit

The entrance to Ginger Bear Pie Shop is quite simple, but you can't miss the huge statue of a lion right by the door.

It's a nice spot to get a unique photo!

Ginger Bear is known to have crazy waiting times, so we made our visit on a weekday right when it opened and there were a few seats available! For a weekday, there were still a good amount of people that were there as soon as it opened.

The interior of Ginger Bear is very clean and homey, making it feel like you're having a meal at a friend's house.

There's lots of indoor seating, so you can choose between eating at a table or at a counter that faces outside.

The most popular seating area is definitely the outdoor terrace. The green plants, small fountain, and open glass rooftop create a relaxing vibe and really enhance the whole experience!

Once you secure a seat, you can head to the counter to order.

Everything is on display on the right side of the counter, so you can get a good look at all the menu items before deciding what you want to order!

Savory Pies

Dessert Pies, Salads, Mashed Potatoes

Wine Selection

We were lucky enough to catch a spot in the terrace area as the group that was sitting there left as we were waiting for our food, which we were super happy about. This very table also happens to be where BTS SUGA and actor Song Kang once sat!

Imagine being lucky enough to see Suga or Song Kang in person!

If you're able to get a seat in the terrace area, don't forget to get those Instagram shots! Sitting in the terrace felt like we were having brunch in Europe, so we could totally see why it's the most popular spot.

There were a lot of things on their menu we wanted to try, so we ordered a variety of items!

Classic Mash Set (12,000 KRW)

If it's your first time at Ginger Bear, you can't go wrong with the Classic Mash Set, which comes with a Classic Meat Pie, Bacon Mashed Potatoes, and Gravy Sauce. We recommend pouring the gravy sauce over both the mashed potatoes and the pie!

The pie was super flavorful and the mashed potatoes were creamy and paired perfectly with the pie. There's also a Truffle Chicken Mash Set (12,500 KRW) available!

Bell Pepper Soup (8,500 KRW)

A great dish to pair with the Classic Mash Set is the Bell Pepper Soup! It's made with roasted bell peppers and topped with a dollop of decorative foam and some fresh parsley.

It has a deep flavor reminiscent to tomato soup with a hint of roasted bell pepper and a slight kick. It also comes with a mini pastry-like pretzel that's perfect to dip in the soup. We loved it!

Spinach Cottage Cheese Quiche (7,000 KRW)

This Spinach Cottage Cheese Quiche was absolutely delicious! It had a flaky crust and gooey cheese layered on top of spinach. It was also topped with fresh tomatoes and spinach!

Peanut Cream Latte (6,000 KRW)

The Peanut Cream Latte is a signature drink at Ginger Bear and was a recommendation from the manager. The cream on top was sweet and had a slight nutty flavor from the peanuts. Underneath were layers of espresso and milk, which all balanced each other out perfectly.

There were also bits of caramelized peanuts on top, which not only made the drink prettier but also added a bit of texture to it. If you are a latte lover, you'll love this!

Apple Mango Kale Juice (7,500 KRW)

The Apple Mango Kale Juice was a great contrast with the latte as it was super refreshing and healthy, yet delicious! It had just the right amount of sweetness and matched well with the food as well.

Mango Kiwi Dill Cheese Pie (9,000 KRW)

The Mango Kiwi Dill Cheese Pie is a refreshing dessert, with chunks of mango and kiwi to balance out the thickness of the cheesecake-like filling and cheese mousse. The crust was perfectly flaky and the hints of dill on top added the perfect touch!

Lemon Meringue Pie (8,500 KRW) / Pistachio Pie (8,500 KRW)

The staff at Ginger Bear also recommended the Lemon Meringue Pie and Pistachio Pie because these are some of their most popular menu items!

The Lemon Meringue Pie has a fresh lemon filling and was topped with cheese cream and meringue, while the Pistachio Pie had a thick pistachio custard filling topped with cream and sprinkled with chopped pistachios. Both were delicious!

We have to admit, the food here was amazing. From savory meat pies and dessert pies to truffle mashed potatoes and creamy lattes, Ginger Bear has it all!

If you don't finish your food or you want to take some home to-go, you can ask for to-go boxes. The to-go packaging is super cute too!
