Our Visit
If you're visiting Gyeongbokgung Palace or Bukchon Hanok Village, don't miss the popular donut cafe "Knotted"! Although there are many branches across the country that are popular among Koreans, the Anguk branch is particularly recommended as it is designed in a Hanok style.
When you enter, you'll be greeted by Knotted's signature character "Sugar Bear"!
Right by the entrance, there's a counter where a variety of donuts and desserts are displayed. In addition to donuts, Knotted also sells a range of bread, such as croissants and salt bread.
Next to the bread section, there is also a wide selection of cakes. Though all the designs are cute, the "Yellow Smile" cakes are especially famous. At the Cafe Knotted Anguk branch, you can either eat in or take your treats to-go. If you buy three or more items for takeout, they will pack them in a cute box for you!
Past the counter, you can see the courtyard and the Hanok. There are two seating spots in the courtyard, so it would be nice to eat outside on a sunny day. You can also take pictures with the large "Knotted" sign on the wall as a background.
The seating area is designed in a traditional Korean style. The hanging bear lights are super cute!
On a warm and sunny day, the windows can be opened to create a space connected to the courtyard! Opening the windows would open up the space and make it feel even more like a traditional Korean house.
Inside the store, there is a large bear light, so be sure to take a photo here! But be careful not to touch the bear!
Next to the large bear, there is a refrigerator filled with Knotted products. Knotted-exclusive beer, brownies, and ice cream are available, so if you're interested, give them a try!
In addition, there is a Knotted merchandise shelf next to the refrigerator. From Knotted sugar bear plushies and keychains to suitcase tags and pens, there are a wide variety of items. These would make perfect souvenirs for friends who love Korea!

Milk Cream Donut 3,900 KRW
The milk cream donut is the most popular and classic menu item at Knotted. The cream is rich but not too heavy, and the bread is soft and covered in a thin layer of powdered sugar. It's absolutely delicious!
Strawberry Cream Donut 4,200 KRW
Next, we tried the eye-catching strawberry cream donut with bright red strawberries on top. The pink cream sandwiched between the donuts has a sweet and refreshing taste, like strawberry milk!
Chocolate Pudding Donut 3,900 KRW
The chocolate pudding donut is filled with a rich chocolate cream. When you take a bite, the aroma of chocolate fills your mouth. It's perfect for chocolate lovers!
Kaya Butter Donut 3,900 KRW
This donut is filled with Kaya jam and butter, reminiscent of Singapore's familiar breakfast toast. The sweetness of the Kaya jam and the aroma of butter really blend well with the donut.
Americano 4,500 KRW
The Americano has a fragrant aroma and is not too acidic, making it a perfect match for the sweet donuts! Although it's a dessert cafe, the coffee also has a unique touch. In fact, they sell a special coffee bean called Smile Blend, exclusive to Knotted!
