Our Visit
AM: TON is a popular hair salon with three branches across Seoul, known for having talented hairstylists that are versatile and well versed in the current hair trends globally and in Korea. On this particular day we decided to check out the Hapjeong Branch, but for those interested in visiting the Hongdae branch, you can read our full Hongdae branch review here.
This branch is located on the second floor, so when you are heading over here, make sure to look up! When you enter the Hapjeong branch, you will be greeted with a clean and modern white interior. It was so aesthetic, it almost felt like a cafe. 
Once you enter, on your right will be the entrance to the main area of the salon. Next to it is a display of all the products that AM:TON use on their clients.
They use high-quality products such as Kerastase and Loreal, and we appreciated that they were transparent with the products that they would use on our hair. It made us feel assured knowing that we knew the products they would use on us.
Once you are ready, the staff will come and give you a key. This key is for your locker where you can store your belongings and personal items. We came with a laptop and a big backpack, but they were still able to lock away all our belongings. If you are out travelling or heading to the salon after a big shopping session and have a lot of stuff with you, don't worry as they will be able to store it during your appointment.
After we stored out belongings in the locker, the staff gave us a consultation sheet. On here we were able to give the history of our hair, which would let the stylist know how to approach our hair better. It asked us questions about whether we had dyed or bleached our hair before and when the last time we had gotten our hair done was. There were also questions about the condition of our hair and the sensitivity of our scalp. We loved that there was a personal aspect to our appointment and that stylist took the time to really learn about our hair before starting the appointment!
Once we finished our consultation, we were guided into the main area to start the appointment! The main area is spacious with lots of booths and around three shampoo chairs.
Our stylist was Jiann, who is also very popular on Instagram with over 4,000 followers! Jiann took the time to explain the full process of the appointment and explain all the steps. Jiann told us that they would to a treatment on our hair as it was damaged and explained that there would be three different steps. Then she told us that she would end by styling our hair.
We were taken to the shampoo booth and Jiann once again explained the product that they were going to use and the benefits of the product. This treatment would consist of all Kerastase products and would focus on repairing damage caused from previous dying and bleaching of the hair. She first washed the hair with Kerastase Bain Therapiste, which works to repair overly processed hair during the wash.
After she washed the hair, Jiann went in with the Kerastase Fusio-Duo Booster and Concentrate. Jiann explained that this product had 36 different combinations and that this combination was chosen as it would properly target the hair's needs and concerns with the hair.
Jiann and her assistants were so meticulous during the process, and made sure that each strand of hair got the proper amount of product distributed to it!
After the booster and concentrate were properly put into the hair, she explained that they would be adding a last step, which was the finishing touch to ensuring that hair was properly hydrated and nourished. This mask is perfect for those with extremely dry and brittle hair.
After they applied the mask, they came around with a steaming machine. We asked what this was for and the staff kindly explained that this was to ensure that the mask did not dry up, and that the hair was moist enough to take in the mask and nutrients from the treatment. They told us to wait for around 25 minutes with the mask.
While we were waiting, the staff came along with a drink menu. There was such a nice variety of drinks ranging from coffee to tea to even juice!
The staff got us Iced Americanos and we sipped on them while we waited for the mask. We were truly impressed with the amount of care that the stylists took had to ensure that we had a pleasant appointment.
After the mask was all absorbed, Jiann took us to the shampoo booth and washed out the hair. She also gave us a nice head massage during the wash which was refreshing and very much so needed! We almost want to go back just for this head massage! 😂
After she dried our hair we could tell how soft and shiny it was compared to before! Jiann finished off by putting some Kerastase essence oil on the hair and styling it into beautiful beachy waves.
When Jiann was done styling our hair, she explained to us how to continue to keep our hair healthy and let us know of a few habits we could incorporate into our daily lives to make sure that our hair stayed healthy and happy. We were truly impressed with the final outcome!
Before we left, the staff also let us know that in the future if we ever wanted to cut our hair that they have a program where you can donate your hair. They put your hair in this little baggy and will donate it to those in need of hair. It is a great way to change up your look while also helping someone else in need.
Lastly, the staff gave us a little goody bag with stickers, a notepad, and postcards. They told us that these postcards were especially special as they were photos that the staff actually took! It was a such a nice little gift at the end of the appointment, and made us feel connected with the staff and shop! We were impressed with the attention to detail as well as the efforts to personalize and match our every need during the appointment and will definitely be going back next time we need to get a haircut!

How to Get There
Exit out of Exit 3 of Hapjeong Station.
Head straight.
Turn right just before the BWM store.
Continue straight.
When you come to the Gentle Monster store, take a left.
As soon as you take a left, you will see another road that leads right, turn right into the alley so that "To well" is on your left.
Continue straight and then take a right when you get to the English Red Phone Booth.
AM:TON will be on your left. Make sure to enter through the staircase on the left of the building!
