Why We Recommend It
It goes with Yeon-tral Park's hip atmosphere, and is the perfect place to get a simple pizza and beer.
It is a Yeonnam pizza joint that people go to despite the big queue.
Their signature menu, Fried Chicken Skin Pizza, is so famous that it was mentioned on the Korean TV show, "On Live Today".
If you want to choose different flavors, you can choose 2 or 4 flavors on one pizza, and come up with your own unique combo.
Our Visit
This Yeonnam pizza joint, Ratthat, can be found when you get off Hongik Univ. Station Exit 3 and walk straight into the neighborhood. It takes about 5-7 minutes on foot and keep in mind that it is on the second floor, so you don't walk past.
Ratthat is near Randy's Donut Yeonnam Branch, so it is not hard to find. The entrance in itself is trendy and catches your eye. Go inside this entrance and walk up the stairs.
The entrance is decorated with posters and banners with their own signature style. You can tell that the owner has put a lot of thought into designing the place.

The neon lighting is what gives it its atmosphere. The overall dim lighting is fitting with Yeonnam-dong's evening. All tables seat only two people, but if asked, they combine tables for larger groups. Each table also has a partition, so you can feel safe from corona germs.
Ratthat is famous for its trendy, hip vibes. The banner, neon signs, and posters are all used to make the interior interesting, don't you agree? That is probably why it is a good place to take portrait pictures here.
Each table has hand sanitizer, hot sauce, parmesan cheese, red peppers, etc. displayed for use and once you sit down, you will be brought cutlery, pickles and wet towelettes.

We ordered what was mentioned as their best-selling menu: the Garlic Potato Pizza and Fried Chicken Skin Pizza. These two pizzas happen to be the most popular at Ratthat.
Garlic Potato Pizza
Most Koreans usually order extra garlic dip because they love it so much. A pizza with extra garlic dip on it already?! It can't get any better than this.
The Garlic Potato Pizza was sweeter than we would expect, but if you're interested in how Korean's like their Garlic Potato Pizza, or if you like a hint of sweetness in your pizza, you should try it out!
Fried Chicken Skin Pizza
Chicken Skin Pizza may sound weird to you if you haven't heard of it before. However, the crispiness in the fried chicken skin is on another level than normal fried chicken. The sauce on the chicken skin is the famous spicy chicken sauce so it is slightly spicy and sweet. If you want more spice, add some red pepper chili flakes! Now that we've tried their pizza, we understand why people wait in line at Ratthat.
Adding hot sauce and parmesan cheese adds more flavor. We keep adding toppings to try more flavors, how many more can there be?

You might've noticed before, but don't you think the plates and cups are so insta-worthy? Other restaurants usually give you glass cups for drinks, but drinking out of these cute cups make the experience here more special. :)
