JTBC, another network giant in the world of Korean dramas, has not produced too many dramas that sparked a big boom in ratings this year, but next year is looking like that may turn things around, with already a significant amount of buzz surrounding some of their upcoming shows.
So today let's take a peek at the ten new dramas from JTBC that will be airing next year!
Fly High Butterfly
날아올라라 나비
Cast: Kim Hyang-gi, Choi Daniel, Oh Yoon-ah, Shim Eun-woo
Release Date: First half of 2022

This drama was originally announced in 2020, with a planned premiere this past May, but due to continuous filming delays, it had to be postponed till 2022.
The story revolves around hair stylists pursuing dreams together in a salon. From the title and setting, it seems like it will be a heart-warming story to kick off the new year.
Thirty, Nine
서른, 아홉
Cast: Son Ye-jin, Jeon Mi-do, Kim Ji-hyun
Release Date: February 2022

From the time the casting was announced, this show has been very talked about as it stars Crash Landing On You's Son Ye-jin and Hospital Playlist's Jeon Mi-do.
The story is of three 39-year-old women, a director of a dermatology clinic, an acting teacher, and a cosmetics manager at a department store. What will the three friends encounter, what challenges will they face as they are about to enter a new stage of life and say goodbye to their 30s?
This is probably the most anticipated JTBC drama in 2022, and we personally can't wait!
When The Day Breaks
아침이 밝아올 때까지
Cast: Han Suk-kyu, Jung Yu-mi
Release Date: First half of 2022

Adapted from the Chinese novel The Long Night, this drama tells the story of a forensic doctor who becomes a murder suspect. Through criminal psychoanalysis the truth is uncovered piece by piece.
Controversy has sparked however, as it has been suspected that this show glorifies the communist regime. So far 8 episodes have been filmed out of 16 total planned episodes, and while adjustments are being made, it is undetermined when production will resume.
I Haven't Done My Best Yet
아직 최선을 다하지 않았을 뿐
Cast: Park Hae-joon, Kim Do-wan
Release Date: 2022

Adapted from the Japanese manga, I Haven't Done My Best Yet is a comedy story about a father in his 40s going through a midlife crisis, giving up his job in order to find himself again. It sounds like it will be a really interesting story to follow from what we know.
Many are looking forward to seeing Park Hae-joon, after his great performance in the record breaking drama The World of the Married. And of course, the many people who watched and loved My Roommate Is A Gumiho are excited to see Kim Do-wan.

The story follows a legal apprentice working undercover in a gambling ring who ends up in prison, losing everything he had worked for. It sounds like it will have use all on the edges of our seats!
KMA People: Office Romance Cruelty
기상청 사람들: 사내연애 잔혹사편
Cast: Park Min-young, Song Kang, Yoon Park, Yura
Release Date: First half of 2022

This drama is also highly anticipated and follows the office romances between people at the Korean Meteorological Administration and shows how love and relationships can be even more unpredictable than the weather.
Moving

Cast: Lee Jung-ha, Go Yoon-jung, Kim Do-hoon, Ryu Seung-ryong, Han Hyo-joo, Jo In-sung, Kim Sung-kyun
Release Date: Second half of 2022

Moving is an adaptation of a webtoon that has been called the Korean version of Marvel and will also be available to stream on Disney+.
The story revolves around teens who have secret superpowers and their parents who work to keep their secret hidden. Rumor has it Disney has invested a lot of money in order to make the special effects top-notch!
The Empire Of Law

This drama features scandals and stories of humanity and greed amongst the highest legal circles in Korea and an eye-catching cast. What kind of exciting scenarios do they have in store for us?
The Youngest Son Of A Conglomerate

Cast: Song Joong-ki, Lee Sung-min, Shin Hyun-bin
Release Date: TBD

Following the end of Vincenzo, Song Joong-ki went to work on this upcoming drama, accompanied by Lee Sung-min, notable for his role in Misaeng.
After being framed and murdered by his employers, the main character is reborn as their youngest son and is able to seek revenge. It certainly sounds like a harrowing adventure and we personally are very excited to see Song Joong-ki take on this role.
The Good Detective Season 2

Cast: Son Hyun-joo, Jang Seung-jo
Release Date: TBD

Season 2 of The Good Detective was announced not long after the end of the successful first series. Production started in October, with the goal of broadcasting in 2022.
