Sonmokseoga: Beautiful Book Cafe With View Of The Ocean In Huinnyeoul Culture Village
A Beautiful And Quiet Cafe In Huinnyeoul Culture Village For Those Who Love Books!
The highlight of Huinnyeoul Culture Village in Busan is the cafe street overlooking the ocean. One of the cafes that impressed me was Sonmokseoga.
Let's find out what this peaceful, aesthetic cafe looks like!
Our Visit
Huinnyeoul Culture Village is located in Yeongdo, Busan. Locals call it Korea's Santorini and attracts many artists and scholars.
On the cafe street is a cute little book cafe called Sonmokseoga. If you like books or a peaceful environment, this cafe is a must-see.
The cafe has both outdoor and indoor seating.
Sitting at this outdoor table on a nice day while looking at the ocean and drinking a cup of coffee would be amazing!
Just looking from the outside, you can feel the classic vibe of the cafe.
Wooden furniture and plain decor makes this place more intimate and cozy.
Outside the door was a box that was made into a house for their cute cat.
It was funny that they even made a treehouse for it like what's written on the box.
You'll be surrounded by books as soon as you walk in.
A lot of people come here to find a good book, or simply to enjoy this calm atmosphere.
Besides books, they have very pretty postcards too! The space is small, but it's no surprise that it appeals to visitors.
The decorations are also full of nostalgia. Seeing the gas stove, pan, and old items displayed here reminds me of my childhood.
They also sell scented candles, handmade watches, and clothes and bags with very abstract designs.
It feels like you're in an artist's creative workspace.
You order at the counter on the first floor and go to the outdoor seating or the second floor to enjoy!
The second floor of Sonmokseoga is not too big and there are about six tables. It's small, but the beautiful decor definitely makes up for it.
If you want to read a book or need a prop for your Instagram pics, you can take one from the shelf. Be careful not to damage the book and put it back after you're done.
More retro decor, like an old mixer and CDs, are also displayed here.
There are plants and dried flowers around the wooden chairs and tables to make the space cozy.
In addition, there are many paintings on the walls. Spending some time looking at them will make you feel like time has stopped.
The most beautiful seats in Sonmokseoga are those near the window because they have a wonderful view of the sea.
A lot of people choose to sit here to read books and take a break.
This is the most romantic spot in Sonmokseoga, just enough for 2 people. You'll see this seat as soon as you go upstairs.
Coming here with someone you love and watching the ocean together would be really great, right?
Thank you to the couple in the photo for letting me capture this lovely moment!
After a while, our drinks were ready. We ordered a Dutch Latte (더치 라떼) and Clove Milk (바인밀크). The view here is super nice!
Dutch Latte (더치 라떼)
8,000 won
The Dutch Latte here has a very fragrant coffee smell. It has no sugar so it's not sweet. If you like sweet drinks, you should choose something else.
The latte tasted great and wasn't too overwhelming or bitter! Remember to stir the milk and coffee layers together before drinking.
I just wish the cafe sold more cakes to eat with coffee!
Clove Milk (바인밀크)
8,000 won
This is the drink I was most curious about. Since it said milk, I thought it would be sweet, but it actually had a slightly sour taste and was refreshing and delicious. Milk mixed with cloves...it's magical!
The purple color and unique cup make it even more pretty. If I could recommend one drink, I would definitely recommend this one!
