Busan is the kind of city that makes you want to pack light and head off for a weekend getaway. It’s not too close and not too far, which is why it has long been loved as a vacation destination, even for just a 1-night, 2-day trip.

If you're wondering where to eat, what to do, and in what order to visit each spot so you can make the most of your time, this itinerary will help. Our editorial team personally followed this 1-night, 2-day Busan itinerary, including the route, food stops, and spa experiences, and we’re sharing it here step by step.

We’ve also included plenty of money-saving tips throughout the trip, so if you want to travel at a relaxed pace without overspending, be sure to read to the end.

Looking for a relaxing 1-night, 2-day trip to Busan? Here’s the itinerary we recommend.

Busan is a major coastal city with easy access through Gimhae International Airport, which offers both international and domestic flights. If you're traveling from Seoul, you can also reach Busan in about 2.5 to 3 hours by KTX.

Busan can be done as a day trip, but staying at least one night lets you slow down and enjoy what the city is really known for: the ocean, great food, and relaxing places to unwind. This itinerary is all about taking it easy. On Day 1, you’ll stay around Haeundae, enjoy local food, visit a spa, and take in the ocean views at night. On Day 2, after riding the Blue Line Park train, you’ll head to Seomyeon to wrap up the trip with a head spa and a photo shoot.

2-Day Sample Itinerary in Busan

Schedule

Course flow

Day 1

Busan Station → Lee Ha Jung Ganjang Gejang (soy sauce marinated crab) → Check in to your hotel in Haeundae → Club D Oasis (spa) → Chicken by the seaside → Back to the hotel

Day 2

Sky Capsule (departs from Mipo) → Cheongsapo Cafe → Beach Train (departs from Cheongsapo) → 100-Year Nakji → suyb (head spa) → PN Studio (photo studio) → Lee Jae-mo Pizza

Below, we’ll walk you through the detailed schedule by time slot, along with info on each spot, in order.

Day 1 | Relax in Haeundae with ganjang gejang and a spa by the sea

11:30ㅣArrive at Busan Station → Head to Suyeong Station

We arrived at Busan Station about 15 minutes later than planned, but KTX delays aren’t uncommon, so no worries. Now, let’s head straight to Suyeong Station, where we’ll be having ganjang gejang (soy sauce marinated crab). From Busan Station, take a bus and transfer to the subway at Motgol Station. It takes about 30 minutes to reach Suyeong Station. Busan buses can be a bit bumpy, so if you’re traveling with a suitcase, taking the subway the whole way may be more comfortable. In that case, transfer at Yeonsan Station, and the total travel time will be around 40 minutes.

12:30ㅣLunch at Lee Ha Jung Ganjang Gejang

1 / 0

This Busan trip begins with ganjang gejang. Since we came all the way here, we ordered the 4-item set meal, which was 45,000 won per person. The crab meat was incredibly plump with no fishy taste, and the soy marinade had a nicely balanced sweetness that made us want to keep eating. A classic way to enjoy it is to squeeze the crab meat out onto rice and drizzle some of the soy marinade on top.

Photo of a Ganjang Gejang set meal

The 4-item set includes ganjang gejang, yangnyeom gejang (spicy marinated crab), soy-marinated shrimp, and soy-marinated abalone, so we got to try a variety of dishes and left completely full. The abalone was quite large, and even the yangnyeom gejang was only mildly spicy. Our editor, who doesn’t usually handle spicy food well, said it was still easy to enjoy.

Outside view of the Iha-jeong Ganjang Gejang restaurant

This place is a little away from the main tourist areas, but it's a hidden gem near the station. It’s a great choice if you want excellent ganjang gejang without waiting in line at one of the more famous spots. On weekends and during lunchtime, there may be a wait, so booking ahead is the safest bet.

14:00ㅣHead to a hotel in Haeundae and check in

Ocean-view hotel room in Haeundae

After lunch, we headed to the hotel first. It is about a 10-minute subway ride from Suyeong Station to Haeundae Station, but since we were staying at an ocean-view hotel that day, we pulled our suitcases and walked about 15 minutes from the station. Once you check in, you can finally slow down for a bit. After a short rest, get your change of clothes, skincare, and anything else you need ready, then it is time to head to the spa.

15:20ㅣClub D Oasis (Premium Spa & Water Park)

1 / 0

Next, take some time to unwind at a premium spa by the sea in Haeundae. After entering, change into the provided sauna clothes and make your way to the main lounge area.

The weather started to get cloudy, so the ocean view wasn’t quite at its best, which was a little disappointing. But we still had fun trying the classic jjimjilbang “yangmeori” towel look and enjoying smoked eggs and drinks.

One of the most memorable moments from the trip was when someone accidentally poured all the leftover salt into their final sip. It was such a small mistake, but we couldn’t stop laughing.

Even outdoors, you can enjoy the sauna and foot bath while looking out at the sea. The private saunas are pretty popular, though, so timing is everything. We recommend relaxing in the foot bath while keeping an eye out for an open spot.

Inside, there are also five themed sauna rooms: salt, hinoki cypress, red clay, basalt, and ice, plus heated stone rooms. We ended up going all in and trying them one by one, a proper sauna session, basically.

This time, we decided from the start to enjoy the hot springs rather than the pool. After a quick rinse, we changed into swimsuits and settled in for a relaxing soak.

Since this is a mixed-gender area, swimsuits are required. If you’re just dipping your feet in, you can wear the sauna clothes provided, but be careful when sitting down, as your clothes may get wet.

As it gets darker, the atmosphere becomes even better, with the ocean making a beautiful backdrop for photos. If you’re looking for a more relaxed, adults-only vibe, I’d recommend this over the pool area.

By the way, Club D Oasis was participating in the Busan Tourism Organization’s wellness and medical tourism promotion, so we used a discount coupon and got to enjoy it at a great price. I’ll introduce the Busan travel discount campaign and how to use the coupons at the end.

19:30ㅣChicken while gazing out at the sea at night

1 / 0

After the spa, take a short stroll along the waterfront while enjoying the refreshing night breeze. For dinner, we had chicken at a seat with an ocean view and were able to soak up Busan until late. All we really did today was eat Ganjang Gejang and go to the spa, but unlike our usual packed itineraries, it felt like we had a full, memorable day at a relaxed pace.

Then we walked back to the hotel, and that was a laid-back end to Day 1.

Day 2 | Slow down in Busan with a seaside train, head spa, photo shoot, and local food

10:00ㅣBlue Line Park Sky Capsule (departing from Mipo)

1 / 0

On the morning of day 2, we tried riding the Sky Capsule. When I checked the official website, tickets were sold out up to about a month ahead, so if you plan to ride, it is best to buy early. There were several groups with reservations for the same time slot, and it took a little while before we could get on, so it is better to leave some extra time in your schedule. You will arrive in Cheongsapo in about 30 minutes. After getting off, there was also a souvenir shop.

10:30ㅣCheongsapo Café, LIBERTA

1 / 0

Once we arrived in Cheongsapo, we took a break at a café with ocean views. Even at this time of day it was packed, and the window seats were highly competitive. There were tons of breads and pastries that looked amazing, but since lunch was coming up next, we decided to stick to just one (haha). A relaxed morning café stop, totally satisfying.

11:30ㅣBlue Line Park Beach Train (Departing from Cheongsapo)

1 / 0

For the return trip, we took the Beach Train, which runs along the coast. We were so busy watching the seaside views through the window that we arrived at Mipo in no time.

The Sky Capsule ride there took about 30 minutes, but the Beach Train felt much quicker, almost half the time. By the way, we bought a round-trip ticket from the official website this time, Sky Capsule for the outbound trip and Beach Train for the return, and it cost 73,000 won for two people.

12:30ㅣLunch at Century Octopus (100세 낙지)

1 / 0

For lunch, I already had my mind set on nakgopsae, a Busan specialty made with spicy stir-fried octopus, shrimp, and beef intestines. After checking out in the morning, I picked up my luggage from the hotel and slowly made my way toward Haeundae Station.

The restaurant I was headed to is a well-known spot on the main street right in front of the station. Maybe it was just the timing, but all the customers there seemed to be Korean. And honestly, places loved by locals usually end up being the best, so it felt like the right choice.

1 / 0

First, I ordered nakgopsae (for 2 people, 30,000 won) with the spice level turned down. Typical Korea, the “regular” level is about as spicy as Shin Ramyun, so even the mild option was still pretty spicy… (lol). I paired it with slightly tangy kimchi to take the edge off the heat, and enjoyed it all the way to the last bite.

13:30ㅣTravel from Haeundae Station → Jeonpo Station

In the afternoon, I had a head spa booked, so I took the subway from Haeundae for about 30 minutes to Jeonpo, where the salon is located. Since the rest of the schedule is around this area, it’s easier to get off the subway and leave your luggage in the station lockers. (For how to find coin lockers inside the station, we explain it in detail in “Busan Subway Station Coin Locker Usage Guide”.)

14:15ㅣHead spa at suyb

1 / 0

I tried a head spa at a stylish hidden-gem salon in Jeonpo that I had been curious about for a while. It had a cozy, homey vibe, and even the neck stretches before the full-on head spa already felt amazing.

1 / 0

Maybe because it was after lunch, I ended up dozing off during my first ever “dohi spa” session (lol).

1 / 0

After the head spa, they even did some light styling, I was beyond satisfied. I had never gotten a proper head spa before, and just having my scalp feel refreshed made my whole head feel lighter, I can see this becoming a new habit.

15:30ㅣProfile Shoot at PN Photo Studio

1 / 0

To wrap things up, I decided to get profile photos taken at a studio my friend recommended. It’s just a 1-minute walk from the salon we went to earlier, the route couldn’t have been more efficient. I’d heard the shoot starts right at the reserved time, so I arrived about 10 minutes early to touch up my makeup, then they called me right on time and we got started.

1 / 0

They kindly coached me through poses I’d never normally do on my own. I loved basically every photo, so it took me quite a while to choose. You can even watch the retouching right next to you, the final quality was so good that it honestly made me want to come back for photos every time I visit Busan (lol).

On the last day in Busan, I was able to keep a record of the trip in such a lovely way.

16:30ㅣWrap up your trip with Busan’s famous Lee Jae-mo Pizza

1 / 0

To finish off your 1-night, 2-day trip, your final meal is Busan’s specialty, Lee Jae-mo Pizza. As you bite into a slice piled high with plenty of house-made cheese and toppings on a delightfully chewy crust, your fulfilling, relaxing Busan getaway comes to a close.

The promotion runs from May 26 to October 31, 2026, and may end early without notice depending on operational conditions.

Q3. How long does it take to get from Seoul to Busan by KTX?

A. On the KTX departing from Seoul Station, it usually takes about 3 hours, but on the fastest services it can arrive in the 2 hour 30 minute range.

Q4. Is Ganjang Gejang spicy? Is it easy for foreigners to eat?

A. At Lee Ha Jung Ganjang Gejang, the soy sauce marinated female blue crab isn’t spicy at all, and the flavor is clean and light, so it’s easy to enjoy even for international travelers.

Q5. Can I buy Blue Line Park tickets on the day?

A. Yes, you can purchase tickets at the ticket counter on the day, but the Sky Capsule is very popular and often sells out. We recommend booking in advance. (Official website)

Q6. Can I book a head spa at suyb on the same day?

A. Same day bookings may be available, but weekends and popular time slots fill up quickly, so we recommend booking in advance by the day before.

A. If you stay at a hotel around the Haeundae beachfront, it’s convenient because you can easily walk to the beach, Club D Oasis, and great food spots.

A. By subway, it takes about 30 to 40 minutes. On this trip, it took about 30 minutes from Haeundae to Jeonpo Station.

Q9. How much budget do you need for a 1-night, 2-day trip to Busan?

A. Including transportation, meals, and activities, you should budget around KRW 500,000 per person for this itinerary. If you use the Busan Wellness and Medical Tourism Promotion coupons, you may be able to spend even less.

Q10. When is the best season to travel to Busan?

A. If you want to enjoy the ocean and night views, summer from June to September is the most popular. However, for a relaxing trip focused on spas and great food like this one, we also recommend spring (April to May) or autumn (September to November), when the weather is mild and it’s easy to get around.

Q11. Is English commonly spoken in these areas?

A. These areas are popular with travelers, so many places have basic English signage, but the level of spoken English may vary. If you're concerned about communication, it's a good idea to have a translation app ready.

Trip wrap-up

Even with a short 1-night, 2-day schedule, Busan was the kind of city where you can truly unwind and recharge. This trip was all about relaxation, from a spa in Haeundae and the ocean at night to seaside views in Cheongsapo, a head spa, and even a photo studio. Even so, it still felt full of great food, memorable photos, and fun experiences. I’ve visited Busan many times, but for this trip, I planned and followed the route myself while keeping in mind the small details international travelers are most likely to wonder about. Thanks to the great perks, we were also able to keep costs down, so if you are planning a Busan trip, I hope you will use this as a helpful reference.
