Busan, the second largest city of Korea, welcomes a large number visitors from all over the world. Today, we have compiled places in Busan (Nampo-dong, Seomyeon, and Busan Airport) where you can exchange for Korean won. Our website provides daily exchange rates for Seoul for your reference as well. We also provided more information on where to get the best exchange rates in Seoul.

Overview of Korean Won

There are four types of bills in Korean won, 50,000 , 10,000 , 5,000 , ₩1 ,000. As for coins, there are ₩500, ₩100, ₩50, ₩10, ₩1. Any value of currency that is below ₩100 is very small and does not carry much value.

Best Place to Exchange

currencies of different places around the world

The exchange rate in Busan is not as great as the exchange rate in Seoul. However, exchanging money directly in Korea (rather than another country) may be the best option. If you are flying directly into Gimhae International Airport in Busan, we recommend you exchange enough money for transportation to get to our recommended places in Nampo-dong or Seomyeon. As a general rule of thumb, you can get the best deal if you exchange at counters in Korea, use newer bills, and use bills of higher values (i.e 100 USD).
