Our Visit
Today I visited Davichi Optical Myeongdong Branch. Korea is famous for being able to purchase high-quality glasses at affordable prices and getting them quickly. Among them, Davichi Optical is a trustworthy place with a professional service.
The first floor is really spacious with a wide variety of glasses displayed.
You can use a kiosk here to convey the glasses you need in advance, and the staff can assist you in English, Japanese, and Chinese. Additionally, pamphlets are available in multiple languages, including English, Chinese, and Japanese.
They have everything from horn-rimmed glasses to rimless and semi-rimmed glasses. There are variety of options available!
I like horn-rimmed glasses, so I decided to get a pair.
The sections organized by glasses materials, making it easy to find the materials you want.
I came to get my glasses adjusted, but so many sunglasses caught my eye that I couldn't help trying them on.
It was fun to try out different sunglasses with my friend.

It's really amazing that the optical store has drinks, snacks, and a space to relax. The amenities are well-prepared, so you can comfortably choose glasses, lenses, and sunglasses while taking a break.
This place offers a variety of lenses at affordable prices.
There are a lot of cases of failure because you cannot try the lenses directly. But you can use the app to change the lens color and see which one suits you.
You don’t need to check when your glasses will be ready—the monitor will notify you once they’re prepared. With all tests and designs selected and a full inventory of lenses, most glasses are ready within 30 minutes. You can pick them up the same day or the next day. If your home country offers reimbursement, don’t forget to request an English receipt to apply for it!

I went up to the third floor to pick out glasses and measure the exact prescription, and I see fancy sunglasses.

Next to the luxury goods section, you'll find a vision testing room and a consultation room. They offer 10 types of detailed eye exams, all free of charge. Let’s begin your exam with a professional optician to ensure you get the right prescription!
First, they perform a basic vision test.
To fine-tune your vision more precisely, you’ll wear the adjustment lens and test again. You can also take a photo here to adjust the angle of your glasses for a perfect fit.
When your glasses are nearly ready, put them on and walk around to check if you feel comfortable and free from dizziness.
I also underwent a test for astigmatism.
This is where glasses and lenses are crafted into finished eyeglasses! Simply hand over your prescription and chosen frames, then wait while your glasses are made.
