Our Visit
Huinnyeoul Culture Village is located in Yeongseon-dong, Busan and sits atop a seaside cliff.
It is referred to as the Santorini of Korea and appeared in the film The Attorney.
We heard there was a famous restaurant with incomparable views, so we had to check it out.
What was it that made this simple noodle shop so special?
The outside blends in with the fishing village look, small and unassuming, so you have to be careful not to miss it.
It's building number 121 and even if you don't know Korean, you can still find it since there is also English on the sign.
From the outside, the noodle shop looks like any ordinary building.
The first floor is the kitchen where you'll find only the owner working.
There are long lines of people waiting for ramyun on the weekends, sometimes for up to an hour.
The notice on the door says:
Come in and get your number, then wait.
No outside food allowed. Finish any food before coming in.
Please wear a mask.
After reading the note, I went in and got my number and waited outside.
The numbers are written on wooden spoons, so cute!
While waiting for the noodles, I looked around.
Unfortunately it was raining, but on a nice day you can sit and enjoy the view from here while eating noodles.
Just standing here, taking in the view made me feel at peace.
Next to the shop is a map of the village you can look at while you wait.
The inside is quite small and requires at least one order of noodles per person.
I went to find a seat upstairs.
The stairs were quite steep and narrow, so use caution.
The second floor has room for about six people.
You can see the decorations are pretty normal.
The table by the window is obviously the best because of the view.
There is also a 3rd floor, but there is only room for 4 people.
There aren't many seats in the whole restaurant, so waits can be long.
The restaurant itself is just a regular old ramyun shop.
If you're looking for something more upscale, you might want to try a different spot.
We ordered two bowls of ramyun and one toast and sat by the window.
Anseongtangmyeon 안성탕면
5,000 won
There is only one type of ramyun available and it is served in the traditional gold colored pots.
Popular MC Kang Ho-dong is said to love this flavor of ramyun.
There are some basic toppings such as onions, mushroom, fishcake, and boiled egg.
It is also served with picked radish.
It is not too spicy, so most people should be able to eat it without a problem.
The ramyun itself if pretty standard, but the view of the ocean makes for a very romantic setting.
Toast 토스트
3,500 won
There are two pieces, so if you go with another person, one order is enough.
The filling consists of egg, cabbage, and deli meat.
Like I said before, it's all very ordinary food, nothing special, but the view is anything but ordinary!
How To Get There
From the Busan Station bus stop that faces Busan KTX, take bus 82.
Exit at Huinnyeoul Culture Village (흰여울문화마을) and follow the arrow towards the ocean.
Cross the street and take a left.
Go straight for about 2 minutes.
When you get to building number 206, go down the stairs.
There is a sign that says Huinnyeoul Culture Village too.
Go straight down the alley.
Take a left at the end of the alley and look for Huinnyeoul Jeombbang (흰여울점빵).
That was our review of Huinnyeoul Jeombbang, the simple noodle shop with a spectacular view.
The food was something you could make at home, but the setting is cozy and romantic.
There are many cafes, but not many restaurants in the village, so this is also a good option if you want a bite to eat and don't want to go far.
I hope you enjoyed reading about our visit to this unique place.
