The best and easiest way to describe the experience is:
* Amazing, welcoming & helpful staff;
* Beautiful, stunning, creative cave infrastructure;
* Fantasy heaven;
* Emotional;&
* A workout.
I was very impressed with the whole Cave experience. From the entry to the beautiful lighting, architecture, designs, history, and the huge Lord of the Rings surprise for all Fantasy lovers. The entry alone made me feel like I was in the Avatar movie. It's such a bitter-sweet beautiful experience because once you read all the history of the cave you can't help but feel overwhelmed. They preserved the history in such a beautiful way and it was an honor to be able to experience it.

It's wonderful what south korea has done with it's painful history of Japanese imperialism and turned it into a beautiful and miraculous cave and you can live through the history. It's definitely a must visit to know the grit of Koreans.

Wonderful. The Caves have themes and history explained by pictures or walls. Take a translator. Most isnin korean. Convenience store right there. Also a restaurant. Cant take water or food in the caves. Bring comfy shoes.

Gwangmyeong Cave is a dead mine located in Gwangmyeong city. Historically, it is very important and meaningful. Because it was the origin of resources such as gold, silver, copper, and zinc. It is accessible from Seoul city.
Now, it is fully renovated.
It is a kind of tourist attraction. It has a small aquarium and plants. Especially you can enjoy drinking a glass of wine with charged.
Overall, you can enjoy entertaining with cold air at the cave. But it is quite expensive.
My recommendation level is in intermediate. If you like going to the cave or the underneath place, you can have a look here.
Thank you!!

This abandoned mine turned into a tourist attraction (trap?), which is more of a theme park than a historic landmark. The last segment of the tour focuses on the interesting history (mining, refugee hideout, salted shrimp pantry...) of this "cave," but only briefly. Most of the mine is littered with LED lights, gold themed statues and decorations, aquariums, and lots and lots of stairs. So if you have trouble moving, I would recommend skipping this one. Bring a sweater because there's a constant flow of cold air, and the moist walls keep the temperature low. Tickets cost us 10000₩ per person, so I guess they forgot to change the price on their website, which says adults are 6000₩ per person. I'm not really sure if it was worth it, because every additional activity costs you more money, and all you do here is go up down and out again. Took us about 30-40 minutes. Also, if you have a foreign card, prepare cash because foreign cards aren't really working here.
