quite old but tidy. male staffs at the reception are not friendly but room keeper who helps clean our room has bright smile and very kind with tenderness. I want to give 5 stars to this hotel just because of her. I think most important thing at the hotel is sanitary conditions and this hotel has a absolute guarantee because of her. thanks for your service and you make our holiday perfect. much appreciate.

Came Korea for a trade show in Coex and all hotels were at mad highs. Found here with a nice 15 min walk to Coex for 150000 won per night with breakfast. (Others were 350000 to 600000)
So based on that I gave here 4 stars... But the rooms are average, slightly rundown. Rooms are quiet and are not bothered by many noises. The large lamps in the room turn off by the phone next to the bed just incase like me took forever to figure out how to turn off.
Breakfast was pretty average but again for the price it's OK.
The have a spa 110000, gym 110000 and pool (which was closed when I was here in Nov)

My taxi pulled into the grand entrance of Hotel Riviera and... I was overwhelmed by bizarre music coming out of the valet station. A speaker set up on the street with flashing lights and some weird music. Very, very loud and a rather off-putting image of the hotel, which I might add, continued. The only contact with the hotel was when I checked in and checked out. I assume this is because no one speaks English so they don't want to get caught in an awkward exchange. That's fair enough. They were very unfriendly. No smiles. No good wishes for my stay.
The hotel is dry. I know this because every day I managed to get an static shock when pressing the lift button.
Set the time machine for the 1980s because this hotel has not really moved out of that era at all. Hotel Riviera is a sad shadow of its former self. I imagine when it first opened it was incredible. But now with warped doors, stained carpets, varnish peeling off the beautiful doors and cabinets, it is a bit of a sad story. I paid a reasonable a reasonable amount of money to stay here and I was completely underwhelmed. The pool was closed, the spa was closed, everything closed. The brass finishes were over polished, the chambermaids were eager to get me out of my room in the morning so they could clean. Overall this was a terrible stay and at the end my eyes were opened to Seoul: it's not London, New York, Paris or Tokyo.
