Miseongdang Napjak Mandu, napjak meaning 'flat' and mandu meaning 'dumpling', has been a Daegu specialty for over 5 decades now.

After the Korean War, which ended in 1953, the people of Korea weren't left with much to eat.

While contemplating ways to fill up people's bellies, the late CEO Im Chang-gyu, came up with a recipe mixing affordable flour along with small amounts of vegetables and glass noodles, and that's how napjak mandu was created.

The exterior looks nothing out of the ordinary, it has the typical look of any eatery that's been around for quite some time in Korea. On the left-hand side, you'll see a booth for quickly devouring their food outdoors while watching the mandus being fried.

Wanting to try the napjak mandu with bibim guksu (spicy cold noodles) as many local reviews suggested, I decided to grab a table inside.

After waiting about 10 minutes, the perfect combination of bibim guksu and napjak mandu were served!

As seen in the picture above, napjak mandu is not filled with much but little slices of glass noodles and vegetables, but they are extremely flavourful and tasty.
