Hello everyone! We are Creatrip, your group of Korean travel experts.
When you think about Korean food, what's the first thing that comes to mind?
While you should definitely try soy sauce marinated crab and Korean BBQ during your trip to Korea, I think you must not miss out on the fried chicken.
But there are so many fried chicken shops in Korea, how do you know which one to pick in your area?
Today, I went straight to Hongdae's Kyochon Chicken! I've had a meal, and I'm going to share my honest thoughts with you.

Korean Fried Chicken: Kyochon ChickenㅣReviews
When you look for Korean fried chicken, the very first place you'll find is probably Kyochon.
Not only is it very popular among foreign tourists, it's also heavily praised by even Korean locals.
I also heard that there's a new menu in Hongdae. Let's go check it out right away!
I arrived at around 1:09, and had to wait around 10 minutes before going in.
There were already so many people, the first floor was completely full!
The second floor is only open at night, but I secretly got up here to take pictures before everyone else.
There are more seats on the second floor, so even large groups won't have an issue being seated together.
The most special are the few open-air seats, but because the doors were locked, I couldn't go out to show you guys.
We've waited enough, now it's time to look at the food!
I ordered the new cheese balls and the soy sauce fried chicken.
First, looking at the cheese balls, I was a little disappointed.
In comparison to the cheese balls I normally eat, I thought these were a bit salty, so the cheese was below expectations.
After eating one, I had to drink water to clear the flavor from my tongue.
I ordered the Kyochon Combo, which has 4 big chicken drumsticks, and smaller chicken wings and drumsticks.
If you prefer the tender chicken drumsticks and wings like me, I highly recommend the combo.
Of course, you must choose the soy sauce flavor, but you can get the combo for other flavors too.
I also noticed 4 new menus in the Hongdae branch.
These 4 menus can only be ordered at the store, and take-out isn't available, so if you're there, you can try and order!
The new menu also had traditional chicken fried rice.
It's my first time seeing fried rice on the menu of a fried chicken place, so it was fascinating,
You can add cheese for ₩1,000 (Take-out is available).
