What is this paradise she was dreaming of? In their mission to understand, more and more people are booking their trips to Jeju to find out.

While many people know about the tangerine chocolates and crunchy snacks that Jeju is famous for, there are so many more unique things you can buy like tangerine toothpaste and Jeju liquor that will help you remember your time on Jeju Island for a long time.

Jeju Famous Snacks and Locations

Jeju Flower Cake

As you stroll down Jeju Island Alley, you will find yourself surrounded by many tea shops. But these don't only sell tea, but also delicious flower cakes. The picture above is a flower cake from the famous Dory Flower Tea House. If you'd like to take a rest from your Jeju adventures, stopping at one of these cafes and enjoying a drink, bingsu (shaved ice) or a flower cake is the perfect way to relax in a cozy and quiet location. No matter the season, there's always a perfect selection!

Omegi Rice Cake

Omegi rice cake is a Jeju classic snack which is show in the picture above. It is made of sweet red beans that are put inside the rice cake which is made of mugwort and glutinous rice and millet. Then the rice cake is is coated with more red beans! In Jeju, some famous locations you can get Omegi rice cake are all in the Dongmun Market (동문시장). There you can find Jina's Rice Cake Shop (진아떡집), Obok Rice Cake Shop (오복떡집), Grandma's Rice Cake Shop (할머니떡집), and Best Rice Cake Shop (제일떡집) which are all great places to find the famous Omegi rice cake. 

Tangerine-Flavored Traditional Cookie (귤향 과즐)

This tasty snack that is made with honey that is fried in oil after being kneaded and sifted in flour. Next juice from either a Jeju orange or tangerine is added to the cookie to give it the nice citrusy aroma. 

Most Korean snacks have a short shelf life due to the use of certain ingredients; however, this cookie can last for up to 6 months so it's perfect for buying as a souvenir.

Korean macarons are famous for being so fat that even the French don't recognize them as true macarons. But that doesn't mean they're not delicious.   Macarons come in many different flavors and are available in many places but we especially recommend trying out to:NE1 (To Anyone) macarons. They come in a variety of shapes like Jeju oranges, camellia flowers, and many cute characters. Since you can get them to go, it's great for ordering many and eating one to two as you're walking around Jeju during the day.

Umu Pudding

Umu is a handmade pudding that is made by boiling dried radish leaves for a long time. These leaves are collected by the famous Korean women divers who dive down into the water for long periods of time to collect various sea delicacies located on the sea floor.

The texture of the Umu pudding is very soft so it melts in your mouth as soon as you take a bite. They sell three different types of pudding, which we recommend you eat in a specific order since the taste gets a bit stronger as you go along. For the best results, we recommend you eat the custard first, followed by the matcha, and finally the chocolate.

Jeju Basalt

In Jeju, over 90% of the island's terrain is made of basalt. As a way to honor this, Jeju Basalt Bread was made to emulate the texture of this terrain. 

The bread is rough on the outside, but has a soft castella-like taste on the inside. This bread has become quite popular so if you'd like to try it out, we recommend you visit early!

Black Pork Ramen

To be honest, we haven't been able to try this ramen yet, but since it is a rare item, it has become a popular souvenir that people like to get when they visit Jeju these days. It's a ramen that is made with potato noodles and is seasoned with Jeju black pork jerky powder. It has a unique flavor so it's best to try a couple before you buy too many. 

The ramen is able to be bought in various forms like other Korean ramen so you are able to pick the best version for you. Whether you prefer cup ramen or bag ramen, the choice is up to you! Get your Black Pork Ramen here!

Miniature Halla Mountain

When in Jeju, you have to drink the Halla Mountain soju! These mini bottles of soju are know for being very strong with an alcohol content of 21%, but a very clean taste compared to other sojus. While we wouldn't travel to Jeju just for these tiny bottles of soju, they are still a great gift to buy if you happen to be traveling there.

If you're worried about the high alcohol content of Halla soju, don't worry! It comes in multiple flavors so you can choose the one that suits your taste best.

Hamel Cheesemon

Actually, these cakes are a very popular souvenir in Korea. 

The demand for these cakes became so high that the store had to limit the number of boxes per purchase. So make sure you show up early to get in line to buy your one and only box. 

It takes about 14 minutes by car and 25 minutes by bus if coming from the Jeju Airport so it's best to arrive early!

Jeju Traditional Liquor

The word 'hondi' (혼디) means 'together, together' in Jeju dialact. Hondi alcohol (혼디주) is a fermentd liquor made by harvesting tangerines from Seogwipo, which are peeled and fermented. Hondi, which has an alcohol content of 12%, is characterized by its subtle sweetness and pleasant sour taste of citrus. You can buy it for about 8,000KRW.

Another brand that has gotten quite famous through social media is Jeju Camellia (동백꽃 제주). Easily recognized for it's bright pink color, the bottles make for a great accessory for your next photo taking session.

Compared to Hondi alcohol, Camellia Jeju is a bit more expensive, with a price of 14,000KRW. 

Osulloc Green Tea Spread

Osulloc is famous amongst Korean people. Osulloc, which was known for being the first museum in Korea, opened in September of 2001. Its purpose was to introduce and promote Korean traditional tea culture. It is now seen as a tourist attraction and cultural space in Jeju, so it attracts about 1.5 million visitors a year. 

If you visit the museum, it is a must to try the green tea spread. The fresh and sweet taste of the spread is an excellent addition to many breads and desserts!

Jeju Mind Sand

Jeju Mind Sand is an Udo handmade cookie that gains its savory taste from peanuts. The cookie is engraved with a pattern that is reminiscent of Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak and Halla Mountain. It's only available for purchase at the Paris Baguette branch located in the Jeju International Airport. 

These cookies make a great gift to your co-workers or friends as it comes wrapped in a nice package. Please not that Jeju Black Pork Sausages are sold separately at this store too.

Hershey's Meet Jeju For The First Time

If you go to the Jeju Dongman Market, you can find the Hershey Tangerine Series. 

The snack is made with fresh Jeju tangerine cream put between Hershey crispy cookies, which makes a rich and unique taste. These snacks are famous since they can only be found in Jeju. Since the snacks are individually wrapped, they make a great item to buy and share with others.

Jeju Soju Glass

This is the Yuchae Flower Soju Glass that sold over 1000 sets in only 2 minutes. It is very common that Koreans buy soju glasses when traveling to Jeju, similar to how other countries buy shot glasses when they travel. The perfect drink to test out in your new glass is Halla Mountain Soju, the main island's top soju, or this year, blue chestnut soju!

Jeju Morang

Jeju Morang is a souvenir shop in located in Sehwa. Althought there are many products to buy there, there are a few signature ones that people buy most often. 

One of them is Sea Diffuser and Room Spray. The diffuser comes in a bottle that is designed to remind you of the Jeju Ocean. There are many scents like Bijarim Forest, Morning Sea,and Jeju Tangerine Field. 

Since it's close to Sehwa Beach, you can easily stop by there during your visit to the sea.

Even in Korea, there are some thing you can only get in Jeju. That includes these special menus and merchandise that you need to book a trip to Jeju to get.

All menu items and merchandise vary from season to season, but there are many interesting drinks to try such as the Jeju Camang Cream Frappuccino or the Mugwort Rice Cake Frappuccino. If you're lucky, you'll be able to score some of the highly desired merchandise as well!

You can usually see what drinks are available in Juju based off posts on social media. 

Jeju Soap, Scented Candles & Mood Lights

If you go to Jeju Island, some of the post popular items you will find are soaps, scented candles and mood lights. Not only are they pretty, but they also easily remind you of your time on the island, thanks to the variety of aromas and feelings that each item produces. 

It's easy to buy the souvenirs that are easily found in the souvenir shops but another way to get them is by taking classes on their trip to learn how to create them and make even more memories.

There are so many cute and different styles of candles, like in the pictures shown above. You can find Jeju orange-shaped candles in a small Jeju orange box, or even Basalt-shaped candles that look just like the basalt found on the island. 

They're small enough to fit in the palm of your hand so it easily feels like you are taking a small part of Jeju with you. 

Some of the more popular souvenir shops on the island are Palong Palong Shiny (팰롱팰롱 빛나는), Lanisia (라니시아), and The Islander (더아일랜더), just to name a few.

One thing you must bring when you do come to Korea is your suitcase! One way to make yours stand out from the others is with a unique name tag from Jeju. Name tags can be easily found at any souvenir shop so you'll be able to choose one easily!

Jeju Orange Toothpaste

This orange-flavored toothpaste is known for being made of all natural ingredients so that it's safe for even children and pregnant women. With the combination of the Jeju orange flavor added to a mint lemon flavor, you are able to effectively eliminate bad breath while also enjoying the taste!

Since its official launch in 2018, about 20,000 products have been sold. Thanks to this, the toothpaste was granted the Silver Prize in the Jeju Tourism Souvenir contest.

Jeju Kakao Friends

Anyone who comes to Korea has to be familiar with Kakao Friends! While you can find they characters almost anywhere in Korea, of course there are special Jeju-editions ready to be added to your collection. Check them out at the duty-free store to the left of Gate 5 in the the Jeju International Airport. Pass the time while you wait for your flight!

You can find special characters like a deep diving Chunsik and Jeju Orange Ryan, plus various accessories like ball pens and AirPod cases. 

Jeju Socks

Korean socks have become popular with foreigners thanks to the diverse and unique designs available at low prices. So of course there are Jeju versions too! Easily found in any souvenir shop or market, you get a nicely designed pair of socks to remind you of your whole trip. Its easy to wish you were back in Jeju while wearing these socks!
