Our Visit

The Cafe Layered Anguk Branch underwent a transformation from a house into a charming cafe. Its exterior is adorned with a vibrant yellow paint, complemented by a traditional Korean Hanok-style roof. The yellow color adds a touch of beauty to the overall aesthetics, making it visually appealing, especially in photographs. Additionally, a cozy bench is positioned in front of the cafe, providing visitors with a delightful spot to capture some lovely pictures.

Upon entering the cafe, the friendly staff will inquire whether you prefer your order to be packaged for take-out or if you plan to enjoy it inside. Before making your selection, it is advisable to secure a seat as there are limited options available indoors.

To avoid potential wait times, it is recommended to visit during the morning hours. It's worth noting that the tables and chairs in this cafe lack backrests, so it may not be an ideal place for extended stays. Instead, it is more suited for savoring delectable desserts in a pleasant setting.

While waiting in line, you have the opportunity to select the dessert of your choice with a tray in hand. The cafe displays its assortment of scones and cakes outside, allowing you to make your selection. However, it's important to exercise caution and avoid getting any crumbs or stains on your clothes while picking your desired treats.

Additionally, it is recommended to be careful and place your selected items on your tray without repeatedly using the tongs for other desserts you do not end up buying. This ensures hygiene and fairness for everyone.

The plain scone and Victoria cake are among the most popular menu items at the cafe. If you opt for the plain scone, you have the option to add strawberry jam on the side, enhancing its flavor when spread over the scone. 

If you have already had a meal before visiting, it is advisable to order just one menu item, as they are surprisingly large in size and are likely to provide ample satisfaction. Remember to request the staff to pack up any leftovers, ensuring that you can enjoy them later.

We decided to get the Green Onion Cream Cheese Scone (5,800 KRW) and the Red Velvet Cream Sand Cake (8,500 KRW). For beverages, we got their signature drink, the Milk Tea (7,500 KRW) and an Iced Einspanner (6,500 KRW).

The milk tea at the cafe offers a delightful sweetness with a pleasant Earl Grey flavor. The Einspanner, on the other hand, features a sweet cream that adds a creamy touch to the beverage. 

The scone is a highlight, as it is incredibly moist and soft, making for a delightful treat. The addition of sweet jam on top of the scone complements the coffee exceptionally well. As for the cake, it is rich in flavor, and the cream on top creates a harmonious combination.

At the entrance, they sell merchandise such as postcards, posters, tote bags, and cups. You can buy the postcards as a souvenir and stick them on your wall!

Inside the cafe, you will find a mirror that serves as a perfect spot for taking pictures. Its presence allows visitors to capture unique and creative shots, adding to the overall experience of the cafe.

To go to Cafe Layered Anguk Branch, leave from Anguk Station Exit 2. 

After leaving Exit 2, continue walking straight, and you will come across a yellow-painted cafe on your right. That's Cafe Layered!
