Do you like fortune-telling?? ☺️ I tend to try it when I have something on my mind, and haven’t you seen characters in Korean dramas get Saju (Four Pillars) in them? 🫣
Fans of Korean dramas have probably seen scenes where the main character or their mother gets a compatibility reading! 😊 I was curious about Korean fortune telling too, since those scenes appear so often! 🥺🥺
Fortune-telling is more widespread in Korea than in Japan, and you really see it everywhere on the streets, plus many local Koreans visit casually and often! There are lots of fortune-telling shops in Hongdae and Kondae (Konkuk University area), so you’ve probably seen some while traveling, right? 🧡
I also discovered a lot when I visited Hongdae the other day! 👀
That said, many fortune-telling places only offer services in Korean, and some have cramped spaces that make them hard to enter, so I didn’t have many chances to try it out...
Actually, the only thing I tried in Korea was a horoscope / star-sign reading gacha (capsule toy)!! I pulled this in Gyeongju, a traditional city like Kyoto in Japan, haha. It was hard, so I translated everything with a translation app, lol
The content was difficult even for me, and I have the highest level Korean proficiency test, haha
