My days off are in Korea! I usually go about once a month to enjoy delicious food, hang out with my boyfriend, and fully enjoy Korea 😚🤍
The place I'm introducing this time is '제주도초밥,' a sushi restaurant in Guro-gu that became famous after being featured on Korean television for its delicious food.
Warm, welcoming shop located a 10-minute walk from Daerim (Terrim) Station.
This restaurant was featured twice on the TV program introducing delicious Korean eateries called 【 생활의달인 】, and it is a sushi restaurant that is very popular with Koreans.
Inside the shop there are counter-like seats along the wall, so it's easy to use alone! However, there are no table seats available 💦
If you come with a large group, you have to sit side by side to eat 🥹🥹
First we ordered the seasonal seasonal sushi (계절초밥) 15,000w and large udon (큰우동) 6,000w.
At first a set miso soup was served and I felt like I was in Japan 🇯🇵😂
Seasonal sushi comes as 10 rolls made with seasonal fish. Everything was fresh, and every time I ate it I kept saying “delicious, delicious,” haha.
Udon The noodles had a firm texture, and personally it was the most delicious udon I’ve eaten in Korea 👍🏻
I was looking at the menu thinking of ordering something else, kappa maki (오이마끼) / tekka maki (참치마끼) / takuan maki (단무지마끼) and they were… only 200 yen!?
I was curious, so I immediately ordered a tekka maki.
The sushi that came out was cut into six pieces
Only 200 yen for this?!
He and I kept checking the menu over and over, haha
Delicious — I finished it up in no time
In the end I ordered three tekka maki and salmon sushi (4 pieces) 5000w.
While waiting for the dishes we ordered and talking with my boyfriend, wouldn't you believe it…!
The owner treated us to a sashimi platter ✨

Delicious food goes well with alcohol, so I drank two bottles of Chamisul and finished all the sushi!

The unexpected shopkeeper spoke to me in Japanese 😳😳
Apparently he worked as a sushi chef in Shibuya for over 10 years!
The Japanese was so fluent I almost thought I was in Japan, haha
I enjoyed delicious sushi, spoke Japanese, and made wonderful memories 🩷
I'll definitely make sure to go again on my next trip to Korea 🎵
