The exhibition 'Shin Sung-Hee: Couturage, Nouage' at Gallery Hyundai in Seoul showcases the innovative work of Shin Sung-Hee, a prominent Korean artist known for her unique approach to abstract painting. She was recognized with a special award at the Korean Art Grand Prize Exhibition at the age of 23 for her debut work, 'Air Heart'. Shin Sung-Hee developed a distinctive technique in the 1990s, known as 'couturage' and 'nouage', which involved cutting and sewing strips of canvas to create three-dimensional art pieces. Her work, compared to her peers, has been less celebrated but is now being re-evaluated through this exhibition. The exhibition is open until the 16th of the next month and is free of charge.
