It’s no secret that Seoul is overflowing with cafes. You can find one on almost every corner, but what makes Korean cafes feel so different from regular cafes in many other countries is how much attention they put into the atmosphere, presentation, and desserts. Sometimes it feels like you are stepping into a movie set rather than just getting coffee. From vintage European-inspired interiors to adorable character desserts, cafe culture in Seoul has become a huge part of daily life, especially among young people who enjoy discovering trendy places and sharing them online. So which cafes are currently going viral? Here are three places that I personally visited and genuinely enjoyed.
1. CAFE HIGHWAIST

The first cafe is Highwaist, located in Ikseondong, though there is also a smaller branch inside Hyundai Department Store in Pangyo.
Highwaist has a very unique old English aesthetic that immediately stands out among other cafes in Seoul. The interior feels cozy and vintage, almost like a small bakery hidden somewhere in London. The wooden furniture, lace decorations, and carefully displayed desserts make the whole place feel warm and nostalgic. I believe this type of Western vintage aesthetic is especially exciting for many Koreans who enjoy European-inspired trends.
The cafe is especially known for its scones served with jam and butter, but they also offer many beautiful cakes and desserts such as Earl Grey cake, matcha cheesecake, and seasonal pastries.
Their drink menu includes coffee, milk tea, and different kinds of tea. Personally, I highly recommend trying the milk tea, as it became my absolute favorite in Seoul after the first visit.
I visited both locations and had a positive experience every time. Even though my Korean is limited, the workers were patient and kind, and they managed to understand my order without any problem, so that is something that made me feel comfortable.
The desserts not only looked adorable but also tasted genuinely delicious and carefully made. Sometimes cafes focus only on appearance and lack in taste, but Highwaist definitely provides both. I especially liked how relaxing the atmosphere felt despite the cafe being very trendy and popular online, with the gentle music playing. It is the perfect place to slow down for a moment, enjoy dessert, and experience one of Seoul’s current cafe trends yourself :)
2. PANIER DE M. MOONI

The second viral cafe is Panier de M. Mooni, located in Gangnam. Unlike the cozy vintage feeling of Highwaist, Mooni has a much more modern and elegant atmosphere. The cafe has its own large building with multiple floors, making it feel very spacious. One of its most recognizable features is the huge black bow decorating the entrance, which already sort of tells you what kind of aesthetic to expect inside.
The interior is mostly white with black details, creating a very clean and stylish look. Every corner feels carefully designed for photos, which is probably one of the reasons the cafe became so viral on Instagram and TikTok. While visiting, I noticed many people taking pictures of their desserts and doing small photoshoots with the interior in the background.
Although the drink menu is similar to many other Korean cafes, the desserts are what truly make Mooni stand out. They offer viral bow croissants, animal-shaped buns, and pastries decorated with ribbons and cute details. Some even have real bows attached for decoration, which was honestly very funny and charming to see in person (make sure you don’t eat those!).
When I visited, I ordered a pink turtle-shaped dessert filled with custard and jam, a cream cheese bear dessert, and milk tea decorated with tiny teddy bear cookies. Everything looked too cute to eat. The desserts were very sweet, rich and satisfying, and the milk tea matched perfectly with them.
It actually felt a little upsetting to eat and ruin the designs because so much effort was put into the presentation.
The workers were also very friendly and able to communicate in English, so international visitors should not feel nervous about ordering there. Overall, the cafe felt like more than just a place to eat dessert - it felt like a full experience focused on aesthetics and trends.
3. TEDDY BEURRE HOUSE

The third and final cafe is Teddy Beurre House, another extremely popular spot in Seoul. As the name suggests, the cafe’s signature concept revolves around teddy bears. There are multiple locations around Seoul, but the branch I visited was inside The Hyundai Seoul in Yeouido.
Compared to the elegant minimalism of Mooni, Teddy Beurre House has a much more playful and maximalist atmosphere. The space is filled with teddy bear decorations, cute packaging, and colorful pastries displayed everywhere. Even before ordering, the cafe already feels exciting because there is so much to look at!
One thing I really liked about Teddy Beurre House is the variety of pastries they offer. There are both sweet and savory options, so it feels suitable whether you want dessert or a quick meal. Some popular menu items include the Corn Egg Croissant, Pretzel Croissant, and Mango Danish. During my visit, I ordered a milk tea topped with an adorable teddy bear paw decoration and a cream croissant.
My order was prepared quickly, and once again, the workers were very kind and welcoming. Because the cafe is located inside a busy shopping mall and became very popular online, finding a seat can sometimes be difficult during peak hours. However, after waiting a short while, I was able to sit comfortably and enjoy the atmosphere.
The pastries were buttery, sweet, and extremely satisfying. Just like the other cafes, Teddy Beurre House combines visual presentation with genuinely good taste, which is probably why so many people continue visiting despite the crowds. I also think it is a very fun place to visit with friends because the entire experience feels cheerful and memorable.

These three cafes are currently some of the most well-known trendy cafes in Seoul, especially among young people and tourists who discover them through Instagram reels, TikTok videos, and social media recommendations. Even though each cafe has a completely different concept and atmosphere, they all share the same attention to detail, aesthetics, and creative desserts that make Korean cafe culture so famous internationally.
After visiting all three places myself, I can honestly confirm that each experience felt enjoyable and memorable in its own way. Whether you prefer cozy vintage interiors, elegant photo spots, or playful maximalist cafes, Seoul truly has something for everyone. I would happily recommend all of these cafes to my friends and to anyone wanting to experience Seoul’s viral cafe culture with a delicious taste.
