Came back to Seongsu for a date! Every time I visit Seoul Station I stop by to browse, just to see if there are any new pop-up shops and to check out all the beauty flagship stores in the area. Seongsu is really dangerous, you can easily spend a lot of time and money without noticing (lol). It’s so lively now, with many Korean brands’ flagship stores, curated stores, and cafes all concentrated here. I always find new shops or events, so even after many visits it’s still a great place to wander.
This time, so my boyfriend wouldn’t be bored just tagging along while I shopped, I specifically looked for an experience we could do together, the Whipped House facial cleanser DIY. I’d seen people share about it before, but never really looked into it. When I noticed Creatrip offered bookings for the experience, I decided to give it a try.
If you book with a Creatrip VIP membership, you can get about 10% off!

When you arrive, you'll first do a simple skin analysis, then choose ingredients that suit your skin to make a facial cleanser. The whole process is actually easier than you might expect, with only a few steps, and a staff member will guide you through each step, so there's no need to worry about failing.

The shop’s interior is actually pretty cute, with a vibe a bit like a dessert studio, colorful and soothing to look at. Many people also take photo ops inside, and the overall atmosphere is pretty relaxed.

Before the DIY session starts, staff give explanations in Korean and Japanese, so people who understand Japanese can join the experience easily. (It’s a bit unfortunate that there doesn’t seem to be a Chinese option yet, but there is English.) I chose the yuzu flavor this time, which has brightening effects. The making process is actually a lot like whipping cream, you need to use tools to work the facial cleanser into a fluffy, cream-like texture. The whole mixing is timed, about a minute or so. Everyone gives it their all while whipping, the scene is pretty cute, and your hands really do get sore (laughs).
At the end the staff checked how much everyone made, and my boyfriend surprisingly got first place for the largest batch, so he got a small gift. The whole experience was unexpectedly fun.

Once you finish making the facial cleanser and pack it into the bottle, you can decorate it and take it home, so it’s your very own one-of-a-kind facial cleanser, which feels pretty special.

After the workshop ends, you can shop for other products next door, and you get a 30% off discount right away. I had already been eyeing their fig essence mist and bubble mask for a while, so I bought them on the spot (lol).
I brought this back and used it for a while, and I actually liked it a lot. The facial cleanser feels very gentle, and the foam is fine and delicate. After washing my face, my skin has a natural dewy glow. When I brought it back to Taiwan, even my mom started using it, and she happily said her skin felt a bit more moisturized, so it unexpectedly became a facial cleanser the whole family uses (haha).

I think this experience is actually great for couples or friends to enjoy together. If you’re just wandering around it can feel a bit dull, but adding a DIY experience like this makes the whole outing more memorable.
If you're planning to visit Seoul Station Seongsu for shopping soon and want something more than just browsing stores, I think this experience is pretty fun, and it can be a nice date activity.
You can find the experience reservation on Creatrip's page!
