Dongdaemun-gu is a district located in the northeastern part of Seoul, about 5km northeast from the center of Seoul. It has a population of about 330,000, making it a mid-sized district within Seoul.
The representative landmark, DDP, is an abbreviation for Dongdaemun Design Plaza, a building designed by world-renowned architect Zaha Hadid, famous for its geometric and organic exterior.
