Located next to the Hongdae shopping district, Yeonnam-dong is a neighborhood with a slower pace compared to the busy city.
You can enjoy an afternoon tea with coffee and dessert here,
✨Recommend Jo & Dawson French toast, there are still some people on weekdays in the afternoon, so you may need to wait a little, but trust me this place is definitely worth the wait~ After visiting this time it became a must-visit on my future trips to Korea, you can log in to CatchTable to join the waitlist, they will also notify you by email when your number is called,
🍴French toast/lemon tart/milk tea/strawberry milk⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
While you wait, consider strolling around the nearby shops, many of which are local Korean stores, each with its own unique charm, and you might find yourself walking out with a few extra bags.

🐿️Acorn Studio is also a must-try in Yeonnam-dong! There wasn’t much of a wait, I went on a weekday and it was pretty empty. The staff were very friendly and added a lot of emotional value, my boyfriend and I both felt the sisters captured our individual features and charm. The price was NT$160 per person (KRW 7000), really affordable and a meaningful keepsake. The drawing only takes about 3–5 minutes, super fast and well done. I forgot to bring any hair accessories this time, so I recommend bringing a few small props, the sisters will include them in the drawing!

There are lots of small shops waiting for you in Yeonnam-dong. The CU here even has a temporary tattoo experience machine and a pop-up primer brand event, and it also sells some makeup, making it a very unique convenience store. Yeonnam-dong is a great place to spend some free time wandering around and enjoying a calm, comfortable pace of life 👣

Every time I visit Korea I stay in Hongdae. Taking the AREX All Stop from Incheon Airport lets you enjoy the scenery along the way, and relax a bit before starting your trip! For the return trip we bought a multi-day transport pass to cover six days, I highly recommend getting a multi-day transport pass for travel. They usually come in 3/5/7 day options, and you can use them unlimited times during the period, so you don’t need to worry if you get off at the wrong station. Buses and subways in the city are covered, so you can use the multi-day transport pass to get from Hongdae back to the airport without buying another ticket!
Staying in Hongdae is really convenient, there are lots of places to explore. We spent a day and a half in Hongdae and still didn’t get to every shop. You can find many brands here, aeae, ason, Mucent, Thisisneverthat… They’re all visible around here. There are lots of food options too, and at night there are street performances in the plaza, it’s very lively! There are also currency exchange offices and lockers nearby, staying in this area is very convenient, and many shops are open until late! You don’t need to worry about being hungry late at night.

Hongdae is my overall recommended area, with plenty to browse, shop, and eat. Staying nearby is very convenient for transportation, and it's only a 50-minute trip from Incheon Airport. I highly recommend considering Hongdae when choosing accommodations!
