After many busy working days, my spouse and I decided to spend the weekend in mid-May (May 17–18, 2025) going to Jeju – the place known as “the paradise of Korea”.
The weather in Jeju in May is extremely pleasant, around 20–23°C, with clear skies and flowers blooming everywhere — exactly the ideal time to travel

Day 1 (May 17 – Saturday): Fly from Incheon – Stroll the beach and relax with Jeju's sunset
07:30: The married couple flies from Incheon Airport to Jeju International Airport on a Jeju Air flight (round-trip ticket ~100,000₩/person).
09:00: Arrived, we rented a self-drive car (at Jeju Rentcar, near the airport – about 70,000₩/day, with basic insurance included).
📍 First destination:
Hallim Park (한림공원) – an expansive park with hydrangea gardens, roses, and giant cacti. May here is like a vivid painting; every photo angle is beautiful! 🌺

Noon
Eat at Hwaro Hyang (화로향) in the Black Pork Street (흑돼지거리) area – Jeju’s specialty grilled black pork. The meat is tender and aromatic; eating it with fresh greens and grilled kimchi is absolutely top-notch.

Afternoon:
Go to Woljeongri Beach (월정리해변) – an aquamarine beach with gentle breezes and a number of seaside cafés.
A married couple sitting at Cafe Aewol Monsant (owned by G-Dragon), watching the sunset fall over the sea – as romantic as a Korean drama 💕

Day 2 (5/18 – Sunday): Welcome the sunrise – Drink green tea amid the hills
Wake up early to drive to Seongsan Ilchulbong (성산일출봉) to catch the sunrise. The climb is only about 30 minutes, but the view of the sun rising from the sea is truly worth every penny.

Visit the Seongeup Folk Village (성읍민속마을) – a place that still preserves traditional thatched-roof houses and old Jeju culture.

Afternoon:
Before heading to the airport, we stopped by O’sulloc Tea Museum (오설록티뮤지엄) – admired the green tea fields, drank matcha lattes, and ate super smooth green tea ice cream 🍃

Jeju in May is like a dream – fresh, gentle, and full of positive energy. Two days and one night may be short, but it was enough for us to fall in love all over again 💕
If you are living in Korea and want to 'escape Seoul' for a bit, I sincerely recommend trying a short trip to Jeju in May.
