First time trying dry eye treatment — feels like my eyes are brighter!

This time in Seoul, besides eating, shopping, and getting a haircut,
We have also made special arrangements for dry eye treatment!
I first learned about this treatment because a family member previously had LASIK for nearsightedness at this eye clinic,
At that time I also tried a dry eye treatment, and afterward they kept telling me, 'Hey, it really makes a difference — you should give it a try.'
I happen to already have a mild dry eye issue,
After long periods using computers or phones, my eyes often feel dry and tired,
So this time I came to Korea, I specifically made a reservation to try it out.

The clinic is located in Gangnam and is fairly convenient to get to; that day we first walked around nearby and grabbed something to eat,
Then slowly walk over to do the treatment; the schedule works out pretty well.
The clinic’s environment is very clean and comfortable, and the space is larger than I imagined. On both sides of the same floor are branches of this eye clinic, which shows it’s quite a sizable operation. Overall it made me feel pretty reassured.

What was pleasantly surprising was that the department head actually remembered that family members also came for treatment today and quickly came over to greet us. And the department head can speak Chinese and was very friendly!
The overall process is roughly like this:
1. First go to the locker to put your bag and coat, then a translator sister will accompany and translate throughout the whole time — I really think this is a big plus. You don’t have to worry about not understanding anything, and the translator sister is very friendly. If you have any questions, just ask her!

2. Next is a series of very detailed eye examinations,
Includes vision, eye moisture, tear condition, and more. This part actually takes the longest, but because the examination is so thorough, you’ll feel that this clinic is quite conscientious.

After the checkup while waiting for the doctor, I even received a small gift (inside were Korean candies)!

3. After the examination, the doctor will explain the diagnosis and confirm whether your eyes are suitable for this treatment; if everything is fine, the treatment phase will begin.
4. The treatments for dry eye are:
First use a laser to soften the meibomian glands in the eye, then have the doctor squeeze out the blocked oil.
To be honest it does hurt a bit, but not to the point where it's unbearable!
5. After treatment, the nurse will instill eye drops for you,
And then the whole process is complete (really pretty fast).
Finally, a bottle of high‑concentration eye drops will also be provided; at home you need to apply them four times a day to help the eye heal.
Here’s a little aside I absolutely have to point out to everyone!!
The attending nurse asked whether we needed to buy artificial tears.
She said at the time that a box of 60 sticks was about 20,000 won.
But when I actually went downstairs to the pharmacy to pick it up, I found out the price was 35,000 won!!??

We specifically confirmed with the pharmacy and went back to ask the clinic again,
Later, a sales representative from Taiwan (not sure of the official title) gave us a detailed explanation.
It turns out the artificial tears the doctor prescribed require a prescription to obtain; if it's the over-the-counter version found at regular pharmacies, the price is about 20,000 Korean won.
Because artificial tears are not mandatory purchases, everyone can decide whether to add them based on their own needs.
After this treatment my family and I all agree that my eyes really don’t get as dry.
And amazingly, there will be a kind of feeling that your vision seems clearer and brighter!
Overall, I feel this dry eye treatment experience was well worth it.
Also, I already checked first — it should be cheaper to do it in Korea than in Taiwan!
So if you already suffer from dry eye, or use your eyes for long periods and often feel eye fatigue, when you come to Seoul you might consider scheduling a treatment to try it out~
We continued directly to aesthetic treatments in Gangnam after finishing therapy; the location was also very convenient!
