Nongshim has announced the launch of its European subsidiary in Amsterdam, Netherlands, aiming to strengthen its presence in the rapidly growing European instant noodle market. The European instant noodle market is valued at around $2 billion and has experienced a steady annual growth rate of 12% over the past five years. Nongshim's own European sales have increased by an average of 25% during the same period. The company plans to expand its major brands like Shin Ramyun across key distribution channels such as Tesco, Rewe, Albert Heijn, and Carrefour, and develop products catering to local tastes to reach its sales target of $300 million by 2030. The strategic choice of the Netherlands as a base is due to its leading logistics facilities at the Port of Rotterdam. Nongshim also plans to enhance its global supply capabilities with a new export-oriented factory in Busan, South Korea, set to start operations in late 2026.
