🎀Everyone's Favorite Ways to Spend Time in Seongsu🎀
Hello 😊
I'm a 20-something who loves Korea so much I’ll fly there solo 👩
By the way, the new school year has started and things are hectic,
I’m planning a trip to Korea next month,
Somehow I still flew three times last year ✈️
To all the new members of the workforce, don’t worry—once you get used to the job you’ll be able to travel as much as you want ☺️
By the way, I moved to western Japan on a work transfer in April, and I’m a bit homesick 😓
I remember when I became a college student and started living on my own, haha
I think I'll get used to it sooner or later.
Anyway, that turned into a long story,
Now let's get into the main topic a little 🤏
A neighborhood young people flock to,
You've probably been there at least once, right?
Where am I? That’s right, Seongsu 🧸
Instagram is full of adorable goods and bread, right? 🍞
By the way, when I first went to Korea
I wandered around Seongsu for a bit 💄
Anyway, since I love pop-up events so much, I always make sure to visit one whenever I go to Seoul.
This time I went to all kinds of pop-up events, grabbed free sample (free sample), and walked around excitedly ☺️
By the way, when I went with my younger sister
Completely missed lunchtime
I went into a curry rice shop in Seongsu 🍛
I went with the katsu curry,
The cutlet had such a funny shape that my sister and I couldn’t stop laughing a little, sorry for being so rude 🙇
It felt super Japanese, which was kind of funny and left a memorable impression, haha
All right, now let’s get to the real topic!!
This time, I tried the cleanser-making experience at WHIPPED 🧼
You might be wondering why, and that's totally understandable.
So,
I went to Seongsu a little too often, and wanted to do something different than usual 🤫
But what does 'different' mean?
I thought, wouldn't doing an interactive experience make it more memorable? ✨
When it comes to travel, I live by some pretty amazing instincts, so this choice definitely wasn’t wrong ^_^ (Sorry to say it about myself, but it’s really true)
All that said,
Saturday at 11:00 (right when they open)
I made a reservation 🕰️
Since we’re making the most of it, let’s get up early
I booked the earliest morning slot, haha
By the way, afternoon slots tend to fill up, so I recommend booking in advance or, like I did, choosing a morning appointment.

This trip was solo, so
I booked the experience by myself, but whether it’s a big group or just one person, the ladies there are so kind and welcoming, so you’ll have a great time ❤︎
Also, if you look at the photo above, you can tell
The price is really affordable!!
Also, it's exclusive to Creatrip members,
I had a coupon, so I used it and experienced it for just over 2,000 yen❣️
About this fee,
This price includes a skin analysis, making a cleanser, plus gifts of the cleanser and a cream, so I highly recommend it 🎀
↑Actually, even now, almost two months later
I've been using it. There's about that much of it‼️
Plus, the space looks amazing in photos♪

(You decorate the box at the end, and this is the kit for that♪ The packaging is already cute so even someone like me with no sense of style can make it look adorable, so don’t worry)
I arrived a little early,
I was waiting for others in the same time slot, so I was snapping photos all around the shop, haha
(By the way, photo taking is welcome, so feel free to take as many photos as you want 🙆)
Before long, everyone scheduled for the same time had gathered,
Let's get started ▶️
By the way, as a side note,
I'm in a Japan-Korea relationship.
At that time my boyfriend was studying abroad in Japan so he stayed behind there, haha
Right now my boyfriend is in Korea and I'm in Japan 🗾
At the same time, there was a Japan-Korea couple having a great time together, and I was honestly so jealous ❤️
I was so jealous I thought I might lose it,
I stayed quiet 🤫✨
Well then,
How the WHIPPED experience works.
First, put on an apron.
By the way, this apron is pretty cute, so
You can get Instagram-worthy photos♪
(I honestly forgot to take a normal photo)
Put on the apron,
We'll analyze your facial condition with a machine ☀️
The results will be printed in Japanese, so please take it home as a keepsake♪
On a related note,
I think this diagnosis is a little, no? actually pretty sweet lol
I'm not really someone who's confident about my skin
It turned out pretty much everything was judged fine, so 🧐
But the fact that the results aren't bad means you can enjoy the experience 😊
(I'm not the friendliest person, so I imagined the diagnosis results might be meant to boost your mood and encourage you to try it, but from what I could see of the staff, that didn't seem to be the case, haha)
Please check for yourself whether it’s true 😆
With all that, I choose a face-wash kit that matches my skin type.
I think they were categories like pores, moisture, and shine.
Sorry, I’m the type of person who’s overwhelmingly worried about pores, so I don’t remember the other details well 🫠
After you choose a kit,
Anyway, mix everything in a bowl 🥣
By the way, this task really makes your arms tired 😮💨
Almost like training with a sports team 🏋️?
It gets tiring.
Maybe I'm just bad at this lol
To the person who lathered the most
They said they’ll give a small extra cream as a gift 🎁
Be sure to go for the top pick, everyone!!
Of course, I'm the kind of person who's bad at this, so I didn't get one, but in the end you can still get a bunch of sample (free sample) on your way out 🫶
The foam we made gets packed into a container, decorated, and it's done 😊🩷
By the way, the staff will guide you from the side, so don’t worry if it doesn’t go perfectly ⭐️
I got tired partway through,
The staff passed it with a smile, lol
By the way, your arm will get tired, but
Since you sit down to do it, it’s a pretty nice break, so it feels like a real rest.
Traveling usually involves a lot of walking, I think,
I realized how valuable hands-on experiences like this are during times like these 🚶
This is what a memorable experience feels like!
So please give it a try, everyone 🎀
By the way, after returning to Japan
The cleanser I made and the sample (free sample) I received — I still use them and they’re really great!!
The scent is just right, not too strong or too weak, and I really like it (it's fig (scent), I didn't notice at first when I chose it, but I recommend it ❣️)
The hands-on class is right next to the shop,
You can buy any products you're interested in.
(I think participants got a 20% discount)
I knew I’d be living alone, so I bought a pump bottle of soap to use at home 🫧
I'm actually using it right now
I'm so happy, these memories are coming back to me 😀
I'm feeling a bit homesick,
I'm totally missing the memories from a few months ago 🥰
It might not be well known to everyone, but WHIPPED offers a really satisfying experience♪
And all of the staff members are women
They were very polite and gentle, and for some people they’ll even assist in Japanese, so it’s recommended for first-time travelers ♡
From here,
This is a totally random aside, so feel free to read or skip, but let me share it with you 🩷
After experiencing WHIPPED,
I went to Hanyang University 👯♂️
Because
I heard that a close junior got into Hanyang University,
I decided to go since it’s only about two train stops from Seongsu, so I went on a whim.
Then,
There just happened to be a graduation ceremony going on
It was deeply moving.
(This was actually my first time seeing a graduation ceremony in Korea, I totally forgot it was full-on graduation season haha)
That's because I won't be able to see them anymore,
When we were seeing each other that friend was desperately studying for the Suneung, and we were in contact every day.
I also dug into Seongsu’s culture and kept thinking about what would help the other person relax without stress, haha
We even went to Everland together after Sunun finished♡
Because that happened
I started to cry thinking that in four or six years he might be one of these proud graduates here 😢
It's not because I started to hate it,
In Japan and Korea, plus there was also military service
We said goodbye when I realized our age gap would only grow bigger from here 👋
(Even though I'm already working, thinking that he's about to start university now,)
Even though the wound should be healed,
That moment was a little hard after all
I already wrote it here 💦
But really,
Not just with him, but experiences in Korea,
Even a brief chat with a staff member can become a memory I’ll carry forever ⭐️
This experience at WHIPPED this time,
It was a moment that added a fresh page to my memories ☺️
Please, if you read this blog, be sure to try the experience in Seongsu ✨
Thank you for reading to the end,
Thank you very much 😊
