Actually, I’ve lost count of how many times I came to Seoul Station last year,
But because every visit last year was a quick in-and-out trip,
Focused on outdoor shoots of Seoul Station’s scenery across different seasons,
So I never had the chance to slow down and enjoy this beautiful city.
This time I came again this year because it was mainly for a short-term study abroad program,
More me time, finally able to slow down,
You can also try experiences beyond just photography.
And perfume and beauty products have always been an area I wanted to learn more about,
So when I swiped through the experiences recommended on Creatrip,
You'll spot .NOTE's perfume workshop at a glance,
The perfume workshop has always been touted by others as one of the must-do experiences when visiting Seoul Station,
I can finally add this to my “slow living” itinerary.

Because I wanted to visit more places and get more done this weekend,
So I picked the earliest slot at 11:00,
But even though it’s the earliest time, I actually think it’s a very friendly time.
First, I chose the .NOTE located in Hongdae,
The surrounding area is packed with must-visit cafes and dessert shops in Seoul Station,
Whether you want to eat breakfast before the workshop, or have a brunch after the workshop,
It's very easy to plan in terms of time and distance,
We believe even travelers on a short, few-day trip
If you add this spot to your Hongdae day itinerary,
It will also be very easy to fit into your route and plan.
Now let's talk about .NOTE perfume workshop!
The location is easy to find, near Exit 6 of Hongdae Station,
About a 5-minute walk from the station,
Its main entrance follows a minimalist style,
It might be a bit more low-key and simple compared to the nearby cafes,
But right next to the stairs on the first floor they had their sign up,
When I walked in I felt very calm and comfortable, and there was a light, pleasant fragrance,
Your workshop experience will take place in this pleasant atmosphere.
The workshop’s teaching style also won’t make you feel any pressure,
The instructor will be at the counter, while students will mainly watch instructional videos from their seats,
If you run into a problem, you can raise your hand right away and the instructor will come over to check.
But there won't be any instructors walking around or standing next to you watching what you do, so there's no pressure,
This is also one of the workshop formats I really like,
You can learn something without feeling pressured.
(Because the video is commercial material belonging to .NOTE, filming was strictly prohibited, so I can't share it here)
The video lesson will first explain what we usually hear about perfume top notes, middle (heart) notes, and base notes actually mean, and how long each type tends to last.
Next, the instructor will demonstrate the steps for smelling fragrances,
After learning how to smell scents,
Then you can choose the scent you like.
.NOTE gives 20 choices each for top notes, middle (heart) notes, and base notes,
I think the variety is broad enough,
For example, floral, fruity, fresh mint, and forest scents are all included,
Don’t worry about not finding one, worry that you, like me, like too many and can’t decide.
After choosing your favorites on the fragrance wall, you can take your six favorite bottles back to your seat and continue with the next step.
Next is the part where you adjust the proportions of six scents,
You’ll mix three times in total, which sounds a bit complicated,
But actually, just follow the video navigation step by step,
Everyone should find it easy to pick up.
After mixing the ratio you’re happiest with,
The instructor will help you calculate how many grams (g) are needed for each finished perfume bottle,
The heavier parts shouldn’t be a problem for everyone,
Add and mix in sequence according to the proportional gram measurements.
Hand it back to the instructor to add the perfume base,
It's yours now, your one-of-a-kind perfume is all finished.
The shop was also very friendly and told me,
Just write a review on Creatrip and you can make another personal perfume in a rollerball bottle yourself.
Finally, give it a name,
Because I came during cherry blossom season, which ties in with the meaning of my Chinese name,
I'll call this bottle 'SunKura'.
The cozy workshop also features a beautiful setting,
