Right now, the trending spot in Korea is the Seongsu area. It’s lively every day, weekdays and weekends, drawing lots of Koreans as well as foreigners, making it a must-visit place in Seoul.
The Seongsu area has stylish cafes, flagship stores of popular fashion brands, trendy gift shops, and even limited-time pop-up stores, making it an area you can enjoy all day long.
In Seongsu, my friend and I joined a hands-on workshop where you can actually make Whipped's cleanser, the same product that's super popular at Olive Young!
[Experience Details]
Making the Whipped Original Pack Cleanser
60-minute course (up to 10 people per class)
※If you arrive late you may not be able to participate, so please make sure to arrive at least 5 minutes before your reservation time.
◯ You don't need to speak Korean to feel at ease!!!
The session I attended had two Koreans and two Japanese participants, and the instructor was Korean, but everything was simultaneously interpreted into Japanese, so I could join comfortably even without knowing Korean✨ They also said they can provide explanations in English!
The shop is a very clean space with a white base, the interior is super cute, and you can take adorable photos anywhere inside ✨
It's absolutely adorable!!!
① Before starting the experience
First, take a seat and put on the cute apron with the Whipped logo.
I washed my hands thoroughly before the experience. Two kinds of hand soap were provided, and both smelled really nice.
Because the skin diagnosis is done one person at a time, while waiting we used the stickers provided at our seats to cute-ly decorate the containers for our cleansers.
You can decorate a simple container with your own design, so it’s a lot of fun and perfect as a travel memento✨
② skin diagnosis
Next, I had a skin diagnosis.
It was great that they could do the skin analysis without removing makeup, so you could be diagnosed as-is.
A staff member took a photo of my face with a special device and explained my current skin condition.
(They explained in advance that because I was wearing makeup, the diagnosis results might have a slight margin of error.)
The diagnosis details are as follows.
- Pores (area, distribution rate, average size)
- Wrinkles (amount of wrinkles on the forehead, between the brows, around the eyes, and nasolabial folds)
・Pigmentation (area, distribution rate)
・Oil level (U-zone, T-zone oil amount)
- Moisture level, elasticity
・Skin type assessment
I was diagnosed as a 'sebum-deficient type.'
At the end they also measured my skin age, and it turned out to be my real age plus one year.
The results of the skin analysis are printed on paper and given to you, so you can review your skin condition later.

③ Choose a cleanser based on your skin type and concerns
Based on the diagnosis result in step 2, choose one cleanser that suits you from the three types available.
⭐︎ fig (pink): for dry and sensitive skin
⭐︎ yuzu (yellow): for those who want dewy skin and firmness
⭐︎ mugwort (green): for those who want pore care
Each scent and texture is different, and you can choose while actually checking the fragrance.
I chose the recommended yuzu cleanser matched to my skin type. It smells really nice ✨
The cleanser I chose is carefully measured to exactly 80g using a dedicated scale.
Getting exactly 80g was pretty tricky, so the instructor helped me ^_^
④ whip experience + foam-whipping battle + decoration
Once the measurements are finished, it’s finally time for the whip experience.
Using a whisk, you stir the cleanser over and over like making whipped cream for a cake.
It was really fun and kind of magical to watch the cleanser, which started out thin, transform into a light, fluffy cream.
At one point the instructor said whoever could whip the foam the fluffiest and get it into the container the neatest would receive a gift, so I spent about two minutes vigorously whipping the foam.
It took more arm strength than I imagined and was tough, but I mixed it like crazy ^_^
It was hard to fill the container like piping whipped cream, but I worked hard, and thankfully I was chosen and received a gift 🎁

With the instructor’s help, we filled the container with the whipped cream, packing it in right up to the very end.
Finally, pick a card from the ones on the table, stick it onto the box and decorate it, and your one-of-a-kind original pack cleanser is complete.

After joining the original pack cleanser making experience this time, I gained a much deeper understanding of how Whipped cleansers are made, the differences in the three scents and their effects, and the products overall. I truly got to experience Whipped!!!
The container and color are so cute, just having it on the bathroom counter makes the space look adorable, I’m glad I joined the DIY experience this time.
It was also really helpful that you can participate comfortably in Japanese even if you don’t speak Korean, so I was able to fully enjoy the experience. Whether with friends or as a couple, you can spend an hour having fun while making your own original whipped pack cleanser.
