Relaxing Beauty Break in Seoul

One of the things I have really enjoyed during my time in Seoul is discovering all the different beauty experiences that Korea has to offer. Korean hair salons and beauty treatments are something I was especially curious about, so when my friend and I had the opportunity to visit a hair salon in Myeongdong, we were both really excited to try it.
We decided to make it part of our afternoon in Myeongdong. Since the salon is located very close to Myeongdong Subway Station, it was extremely convenient to include it in our plans without having to spend a lot of time traveling around Seoul.
We went together, but we decided to have different treatments. My friend wanted to experience a hair spa, while I wanted to change my hair color and also get a haircut and a hair treatment. It was really nice to be able to enjoy the experience together while each of us tried something different.
One of the first things I noticed was how convenient the location was. The salon is very close to one of the exits of Myeongdong Subway Station, so getting there was really easy.
For me, location is quite important when traveling because I usually try to combine different activities in the same area instead of spending the whole day on public transportation. Myeongdong is already one of my favorite areas to explore because there are so many shops, restaurants, cafés and things to see, so being able to have a beauty appointment there was perfect.
We went in the afternoon, which worked especially well because after our appointment we were still very close to all the things we wanted to see in Myeongdong. We could simply leave the salon and continue exploring the neighborhood, shopping and looking around without having to travel somewhere else.
If you are planning an afternoon or evening in Myeongdong, I think this is a really convenient activity to add to your itinerary. You can have your appointment and then continue exploring the area afterwards.
For my appointment, I decided to get my hair colored, cut and treated. I had been wanting to change my hair color, but I was also looking for something that would make my hair look healthier.
The humidity in Korea had been quite difficult for my hair. Since arriving, I had noticed that my hair was becoming much harder to manage and was looking quite dry and messy because of the humid weather. I was therefore particularly interested in trying a Korean hair treatment.
The whole process was very comfortable from beginning to end. The staff listened to what I wanted and paid attention to the details of the haircut and color. I really appreciated this because when you get your hair done in another country, it can sometimes be difficult to explain exactly what you want. In my case, the final haircut was exactly what I had in mind.
The hair treatment was probably one of my favorite parts of the experience. After the treatment, my hair felt incredibly soft and much easier to manage. Considering how much the Korean humidity had been affecting my hair, I was honestly very happy with the result.
The final color also turned out really nicely, and I loved seeing the difference once everything was finished. It was a great feeling to leave the salon with my hair looking fresh, soft and completely different from when I arrived.
While I was getting my hair colored and treated, my friend had a completely different experience. She decided to try the hair spa, and she absolutely loved it.
She told me that the whole experience was incredibly relaxing. The hair spa was not simply about taking care of the hair; it also felt like a little moment of relaxation during our busy trip around Seoul.
She also got her hair styled afterwards, which was a really nice way to finish the treatment. Her hair looked beautiful, and she came out of the salon looking very happy and relaxed.
I think doing different treatments at the same salon was actually a really good idea for us because we could both choose something according to what we wanted. I wanted to focus more on changing and repairing my hair, while my friend wanted to have a relaxing spa experience.
Another thing that made the experience special was the service. The staff were very kind and attentive throughout the appointment, and we felt very comfortable even though we were in a different country.
They also brought us drinks and some snacks during the appointment. These little details made the experience feel much more welcoming and enjoyable.
One of my favorite details was the chair used while washing my hair. It was a very comfortable massage chair, so instead of simply sitting there while my hair was being washed, I could actually relax for a while.
After spending several hours walking around Seoul, having the opportunity to sit down, relax and have someone take care of my hair was exactly what I needed.
I also liked that the salon felt like more than just a place where you go, get your hair done and leave. The combination of the treatment, the comfortable environment, the drinks and snacks and the friendly service made the whole appointment feel like an experience.
Absolutely! I think this was one of those experiences that is especially nice to include during a trip because it combines something practical with a little bit of self-care.
If you are traveling around Seoul, your hair can definitely be affected by the weather, especially during humid seasons. In my case, the treatment made a noticeable difference in how soft and manageable my hair felt.
I would particularly recommend trying a hair treatment if you are also struggling with the humidity. My hair had been feeling quite bad since arriving in Korea, and after the treatment it felt incredibly soft.
For anyone interested in changing their hair color, getting a haircut or simply having a relaxing beauty experience, I think a Korean hair salon is worth trying. It is also a fun way to experience another part of Korean beauty culture.
And if you are visiting Myeongdong, the location makes it even easier to include in your travel plans. You can visit the salon in the afternoon and then continue exploring Myeongdong afterwards.
Looking back, I think going to the salon with my friend was a really nice part of our trip. We were able to experience two different treatments, relax for a while and leave with our hair looking amazing.
My friend really enjoyed the hair spa and styling, while I loved my new color, haircut and especially how soft my hair felt after the treatment. We both agreed that the service was excellent and that the staff made us feel very comfortable.
The location was another big advantage. Since the salon is so close to Myeongdong Station, we didn't have to dedicate the entire afternoon to traveling to the appointment. Instead, we could easily combine it with the rest of our plans in Myeongdong.
For me, that is one of the best things about exploring Seoul: you can combine sightseeing, shopping, food and beauty experiences all in the same day.
