First time going to Korea!!!! 🇰🇷💕🩷

This time, I want to share the story of when I traveled to Korea for the first time!!!!!
I went for 2 nights and 3 days!! I stayed around Seoul’s Myeongdong area!!!!
For the flight, I used Jin Air. Jin Air is a great low cost airline, but when I went, it was during the COVID period, so there were lots of procedures and it was a bit of a hassle too.
After arriving in Korea, the very first thing I did was go shopping at a convenience store, because there was something I really wanted to buy! That was banana milk!!!!!!!
Banana milk sold at convenience stores in Korea is super famous, and it was something I absolutely wanted to drink if I went to Korea, so the first thing I had in Korea was that banana milk!!!!!!!!!! It was so delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I arrived at Incheon Airport, and from there I took the train to Seoul Station!! It wasn’t a regular train, it was a high speed rail line!!!
It zooms along!! It’s like the Shinkansen in Japan!!!! There was another line too, a high speed rail that goes toward Busan, but I went to that platform by mistake and got lost, so I asked a station staff member, and then I was able to get to the correct platform for Seoul Station!! It was tough…
After arriving at Seoul Station, I transferred to go to Myeongdong Station!! For some reason there weren’t many people at the station ^_^ I’m not really sure why, but it was the end of March. I wondered if it was because people had school and things like that, but honestly I’m not sure.
I got off at Myeongdong, walked down the famous street, and first headed to my hotel! Also, on the way to the hotel I mistakenly went near a different hotel… but I did make it to the right one in the end, so it was all good!!!! All’s well that ends well!
The hotel was really clean, the staff were kind, and there was someone who could speak Japanese, which helped me so much!!!!!! I wasn’t completely unable to speak Korean, but I was still nervous, so just knowing there was a staff member who could speak Japanese made me feel really reassured!!! The room was super clean too!!!!
And then, and then…
I went to an exchange booth to exchange money, and I enjoyed shopping at places on Myeongdong Street like Olive Young and SPAO!!!
At night I ate dinner and went back to the hotel to wrap up the day!! For dinner I had shrimp.
And there was one more thing I wanted to eat besides banana milk, it was a yogurt sold at Korean convenience stores and supermarkets that comes with toppings mixed in! The famous Biyott!!!!!!!!!!!!! I bought it for breakfast, and that was the end of day 1!!
On day 2, I woke up around 8 a.m.!! After getting ready and doing my makeup, I went to a nearby bakery and bought some bread!
I really wanted a bagel, but they didn’t have any, so I bought a scone and went back to the hotel!!! I ate breakfast there, and then the day officially started!!!! First, I went to Seoul Tower!!!!! I bought a ticket at the counter, got on a gondola, and went up to the base of Seoul Tower! It’s also a famous date spot, and there were tons of heart-shaped love locks hanging there!!!
It was so colorful, beautiful, and perfect for photos!!!!! From there I went up Seoul Tower and took lots of pictures!! There was a direction sign for Tokyo, so I tried taking photos in that direction too, with the clouds and everything.
After Seoul Tower, it was time for lunch!! I was hungry so I debated going to a cafe, but I didn’t have much info, so for now I decided to go to the HYBE headquarters, which I’d been wanting to visit!!! A dream come true!!!!!
So,
I went all the way to the HYBE headquarters, and unfortunately I couldn’t go inside, but I took photos out front!! The building itself was huge and beautiful, I could totally feel the money…
After that, I went to eat kimbap for lunch!!!!!!!!
It was a place near the HYBE headquarters, and it was seriously so cheap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kimbap, miso soup, and pickled radish, all for 3,000 won!!!!! By the way, I had kimchi kimbap!! It was so good!! 3,000 won is like about 300 yen in Japanese money, right!! Being able to get a set meal for that price really made me think, that’s Korea for you!! I was totally satisfied!!!
After that, since the HYBE headquarters is along the Hangang, I crossed the Hangang and took a little walk to a park where you can eat cup ramen!! In Korea it’s really common to buy cup ramen at a park and use a machine like a vending machine at the shop to cook it, then everyone eats together, right!!!!
Also, in Korea people often eat chicken and beer at parks and things like that, and it’s called “chimaek”!! I’m sure anyone who loves Korea already knows, but apparently it’s really delicious!! Everyone, please try it! I still haven’t yet.
By the way, on the Hangang there’s a big bridge with a fountain-like show, and when it lights up it looks so beautiful from the riverbank, so please check it out!! There are seasons when it’s closed, so make sure to confirm!!! It wasn’t running in March.
It was getting late, so I headed back to the hotel!! I took a bus back!! While waiting for the bus, there was a convenience store nearby, so I bought an ice cream and ate it!!! The flavor was a bit different from Japan, but it was really tasty!! But actually I wasn’t that hungry at the time, so I felt like it might have been a bit of a waste.
Then after returning to the hotel, I went to Dongdaemun and visited a jjimjilbang!! It’s a large complex facility with saunas and relaxation areas, and it’s a very famous kind of place in Korea!! Anyone of any age can go!! I went into the sauna and felt so refreshed!!
Also, on the way back to the hotel, I bought chicken this time!!
For a late night snack!!!!! After getting back to the hotel and eating until I was full, day 2 was over!!
It was day 3!! This was the day I went back to Japan!!!!! I ate breakfast, walked around Myeongdong, went to Incheon Airport, and headed home to Japan. I arrived at the airport around noon and I was hungry, so I ordered a drink at a cafe inside the airport and drank it. It was so delicious!!!!!!! While I was having my drink at the airport, the feeling of “I really have to go home now…” kept getting stronger, and I started thinking, I don’t want to go home yet, I want to stay in Korea longer. But my flight time was getting closer, and it was time to go back to Japan.
Still, on this trip I was able to go everywhere I wanted, so I had no regrets!! It was so much fun!!!
I’d always wanted to visit Korea at least once in my life, so I was really happy I was able to make that first trip happen!!!! I hope all of you go to Korea too, visit lots of places you want to see, and make it a full and satisfying Korea trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
