A place where you can enjoy traditional Korean sweets "Korean House"
On my third trip to Seoul, I wanted to try something a little special, so I visited a place where you can feel Korea’s traditional culture, "Korean House."
This time, what I came for was a relaxing moment enjoying traditional Korean sweets and tea 🍵
It’s a bit different from a typical cafe, it was a place where you could experience Korean culture through everything, the building, the service, and even the little touches and performances.
The first thing I felt when I arrived was how wonderful the atmosphere of the building was.
It has a very Korean, traditional feel, while also having a sense of luxury, so it feels special in a way that’s different from everyday cafes✨️✨️
I arrived about 15 minutes early, but they showed me to an air-conditioned waiting room, and I was able to relax and spend time at ease in a calm atmosphere.
When it was time, I was shown to a floor-seating room with a view of the courtyard, which instantly lifted my mood💕
They also have seats that you can use solo, so it seems easy to visit even if you’re traveling alone!!
When I visited, there were also people with children, and some guests were using table seating as well.
As for the menu, they kindly explained everything in Japanese.
Some of the traditional sweets are hard to identify just by looking, but because you can enjoy them while listening to the explanation, it makes it even more fun✨️
Rather than eating while thinking, “What is this?”, tasting them after learning the meaning and characteristics made traditional Korean sweets feel much more familiar.
After a while, as I was eating the sweets, a woman performed a dance right in front of me 💓
It was only a few minutes and not a long performance, but being able to watch a traditional dance while enjoying your food is an experience you don’t often get.
It wasn’t just about eating something sweet, it became time where I could actually experience Korean culture✨️
After enjoying the traditional sweets, I also ordered an extra chamoe shaved ice 🍧
This one was a smaller portion, and the flavor wasn’t overly sweet, it felt refined overall.
I also liked that it was a size that didn’t feel too heavy even after eating sweets.
Overall, rather than a cafe you’d go to on a daily basis, it felt like a place you’d want to experience at least once as a travel memory from your Korea trip.
The luxurious building, the attentive service, the traditional sweets, and the dance performed right in front of you.
All of it came together, and I was able to spend time that felt a little different from usual.
