Eunpyeong Hanok Village - Underestimated Gem

Every tourist traveling to Seoul will read about palaces, Bukchon Hanok Village.. but what about calm gems, where modernity meets the past?
There is a place that became a forever lasting memory from my first trip (and I’m going on 4th one soon!), which I’ll visit again just to connect with traditional culture in Korea.
Eunpyeong Hanok Village was easily accessible with a bus.
It’s very different from other touristy places, because I haven’t met a single foreigner there (or matter of fact, barely any people at all). Two times, there were Koreans driving by who waved and said "Hi" 😊 I’m assuming not many foreigners visit it (definitely missing out!)
It’s a residential area, so it’s important to behave well and explore quietly. You can even find a themed, traditional CU there!
As for the houses, they’re absolutely stunning. They are surrounded by mountains and gorgeous nature. It’s a wonderful photospot, as well as place to rest and immerse yourself in tradition.
I even found a small art display there, just waiting to be admired by visitors!
Once I was done taking many photos and admiring the area, I came across path leading up to the mountains. So I decided, why not? The little hike wasn’t in my itinerary, but I was definitely meant to find it and go. The nature there was stunning and very peaceful. I have seen a bunch of impressive figurines and stones.
After a brief walk up - I ended up in area with temples. The whole place was wonderful. They had spots to rest in, as well as water refill.
There was even a gift shop! It featured traditional figurines and items - I ended up buying a lucky pig for my grandma.
I refused to leave for a very long time, because as a huge nature lover & Korea lover, I was in heaven.
I highly recommend visiting the area. It’s truly one of a kind hike in the most wonderful place possible! I’m already counting days until I can go again and disconnect from the world among nature in Seoul 🌳
