National Museum of Korea in Seoul

I have visited Nationaml Museum of Korea as free ticket was one of the benefits in my Discover Seoul Pass.
Here I will write on how that went!
One of my favorite parts was honestly the outside. It was a gorgeous garden, perfectly embodying the Korean architecture and aesthetic with a modern touch. I spent a good while admiring just that.
When I walked in, the space felt so gigantic. The walls and floor were finished with a shiny stone, I honestly loved that - it was so modern and flawless.
There were many and many floors, rooms with different artifacts or artwork. Every display had English translation, so language bareer is not an issue there! There is also plenty of benches to sit on and rest - therefore, I could have explored for hours comfortably.
Something I can really praise about this place is that everyone will find something they enjoy - I’m personally not into the history that much, haha. Many displays were wonderful and done well, but couldn’t grasp my attention that much because it just wasn’t field I’m interested in (but I was in history museum, I know…)
However, I still found myself very interested in stone dragon figures as they were simply impressive no matter what your interest is.
My absolute favorite were paintings. I spent a while looking at the artwork of the dogs (it was possibly the animal lover in me). I enjoyed all the paintings around me though. It felt really special to be looking at something so old yet so beautiful.
I highly recommend a visit - even if like me, you’re not a history enthusiast, the National Museum is something you just have to check off your list as a tourist in Seoul. It’s a majestic experience and I’m very grateful I got to have it, especially for free with DSP!
