# My 10-Day Seoul Solo Trip｜Concerts, Food, and Shopping All in One!

Korea has always been the country I most want to visit again. Besides loving Korean culture and K-pop, Seoul’s convenient transportation, amazing food, and wide variety of attractions make every trip full of new surprises. This time I planned a seven-day independent trip, staying mainly around Dongdaemun. Whether it was taking the subway, shopping, or heading back to the hotel to rest, everything was super convenient, which made the whole trip feel much more relaxed.

After arriving at Incheon Airport, I took the Airport Railroad and the subway to my accommodation. Korea’s public transportation is truly convenient, with a transit card, you can easily get to most attractions. If it’s your first time in Seoul, there’s no need to worry too much. Just use a navigation app, and even if you don’t speak Korean, you’ll still be able to find your way smoothly.
This time I chose to stay near Dongdaemun. The biggest advantage was the easy transportation, and there were also tons of nearby restaurants, convenience stores, and cafes. Before heading back to the hotel at night, I could also squeeze in a bit of shopping or grab a late-night snack. After finishing each day’s itinerary, going back to rest didn’t require spending extra time commuting, which is a huge plus for independent travel.

One of the things I looked forward to most on this trip was watching a concert at KSPO DOME. For me, being able to see my favorite idol perform in person in Korea is such a happy thing. Even though the crowd was huge that day, everything was well organized. Everyone cheered together and sang along, and the atmosphere was absolutely electric. After the concert ended, I was still so excited, and it became an unforgettable memory.

Besides the concert, I also planned plenty of shopping. Places like Myeongdong, Hongdae, and Seongsu are all highly recommended. Myeongdong has lots of beauty stores, clothing shops, and all kinds of street food, making it perfect for first-time visitors to Korea. Hongdae is full of youthful energy, with unique fashion boutiques, cafes, and street performances. Seongsu has also become one of Korea’s hottest areas in recent years, with many designer brands, hip cafes, and distinctive architecture. It’s definitely worth spending half a day to a full day strolling around at a relaxed pace.

If you love shopping for skincare, you can’t miss Olive Young. The selection is incredibly wide, from skincare and makeup to health supplements, you can basically buy everything in one place, and they often have great promotions. I picked up quite a lot of skincare this time, and even after returning to Taiwan, I still use it every day. It’s easily one of the most practical souvenirs from this trip.

Of course, Korean food is an essential part of any trip. Over these days, I had Korean fried chicken, BBQ, naengmyeon (cold noodles), cafe desserts, and convenience store snacks, every meal was so satisfying. Korean cafes don’t just have great drinks, their interiors are also super stylish and unique. Even if you’re just sitting and chatting, it feels really relaxing.

During the trip, I also noticed how clean and well organized the streets in Korea are. Subway signage is clear. Even though it gets crowded during rush hour, the overall riding experience is still very convenient. Many attractions also have Chinese and English signage nearby, which is very friendly for international travelers.
On the last day, while packing, looking at everything I bought back really gave me a sense of accomplishment. Besides beauty and skincare items, I also picked up a lot of merchandise I liked, and each item represents a memory from this trip.

This ten-day independent trip in Seoul wasn’t just a vacation, it was an experience filled with memories. Whether it was enjoying a concert, tasting delicious food, shopping, or simply strolling through the streets, it all made me like Korea even more. If I get the chance in the future, I hope to visit Seoul again. I also want to plan trips to other cities like Busan and Jeju Island, and continue exploring more of Korea’s charming scenery and culture.
