[Seoul School Uniform Rental Experience] Slip into the same uniforms seen in Korean dramas and instantly return to those romantic student day memories
Whenever I watch Korean dramas, I always get drawn in by the youthful campus scenes. Whether it’s “The Heirs”, “School 2015”, or any of the many school romance series, the shots of the leads walking around campus in uniform are always unforgettable. On this trip to Seoul, I specifically set aside time for something I’d been wanting to try for ages, renting a Korean school uniform.
I originally thought it would just be changing clothes and taking a few photos, but after actually doing it, it unexpectedly became one of the most fun memories of this DIY Korea trip.

Once you arrive at the shop, the first step is to put your jacket, backpack, and belongings into a locker.
The space inside isn’t especially large, but it’s kept very clean, and there are plenty of lockers, so you don’t have to worry about not finding one.
The staff will briefly explain the rental process. It’s actually very straightforward, so even if you don’t speak Korean, there’s no need to stress.
After packing away my own clothes, I suddenly felt like I was getting ready to transform.

This time, the uniform rental shop I chose was located right near a popular attraction.
You can spot the eye-catching “School Uniform Rental” sign from far away.
At the entrance, there are displays of all kinds of uniform styles, with options for both guys and girls. From classic preppy looks to the styles you often see in idol dramas, they pretty much have it all.
Even before stepping inside, I was already excited to see what kind of uniform I’d end up choosing.

Once you enter the selection area, you instantly get hit with decision paralysis.
Besides uniform shirts and skirts, there are also all kinds of ties, bow ties, vests, and suit jackets.
Just the bow ties alone come in dozens of colors and patterns.
Some lean cute, while others feel more mature and academic.
I spent quite a while mixing and matching here, because each set looks completely different once it’s on.
No wonder so many people can spend more than half an hour just choosing outfits.

The racks are filled with uniforms in every style.
They have a great range of sizes and designs.
Whether you’re petite or tall, most travelers can find a size that fits.
There are also mirrors on-site so you can try things on repeatedly.
What’s most fun is seeing travelers from all kinds of countries seriously putting together their looks here.
The whole shop is full of laughter, and the vibe is super lively.

After a round of choosing, I ended up going with a pink plaid skirt paired with an off-white blazer.
Taking photos in front of the Magic Castle at Lotte World, I genuinely felt like I’d been transported back to high school.
Even though I left school years ago, the moment I put on the uniform, it was like I found that simple, happy feeling of youth again.
Quite a few visitors walking by even took a second look.
Some travelers even came up to ask where I rented the uniform.
To me, the biggest fun of renting a school uniform is that it looks incredibly good in photos.
Especially once you get to Lotte World, the overall atmosphere goes straight to the max.
The blue-spired castle paired with a Korean-style uniform gives total K-drama leading lady vibes.
No matter what angle you shoot from, it’s easy to get dreamy photos.
And since the uniform itself has so much character, you don’t need to strike complicated poses, even a casual standing shot looks great.
My friend and I took photos here for over an hour, my phone storage was almost completely filled.
I used to think uniform rental was something just for younger people, but after trying it, I realized that no matter your age, you can still find your own kind of fun in it.
It’s not just putting on a uniform, it feels more like a roleplay experience.
For a few short hours, you can set aside work stress and everyday busyness, and simply enjoy the happiness that comes from taking photos and traveling.
If it’s your first time traveling to Seoul and you also plan to visit Lotte World, I highly recommend trying a school uniform rental.
The photos come out with a distinctly Korean feel, and they’ll also leave you with a different kind of travel memory.
Years later, when you look back at these photos, you might remember the laughter while taking pictures in front of the castle, the indecision while choosing a uniform, and that touching moment of briefly returning to your youth.
For me, this wasn’t just a school uniform rental experience, it became one of the most meaningful memories of my Seoul trip.
