I’ve had a long-term exercise routine, and besides weight training, I also really enjoy playing golf and diving. Because I’m nearsighted, I need to wear contact lenses every time I work out, but my eyes tend to get dry easily. When I wear contacts for a long time, I often feel like there’s something in my eye, especially when I’m out on the golf course all day or traveling abroad. My eyes would get uncomfortable so often that I eventually started thinking about getting laser vision correction.
Before this trip to Korea, I booked SMILE Pro laser vision correction at Myeongmuk Eye Clinic through Creatrip. From the pre-op exam to the day of surgery, there was Chinese interpretation support, so I didn’t have to worry about the language barrier, and the whole process was arranged very smoothly. The exams were also very thorough, and the doctor provided recommendations based on my eye condition, which felt really professional.
The procedure was much faster than I expected. Once I actually went into the laser room, it was finished not long after, and there wasn’t any noticeable pain during the process. After resting for a few hours post-op, my vision gradually became clearer, and when I went back for a follow-up exam the next day, my eyesight had already reached an ideal level.
The biggest change I’ve noticed is how much more convenient exercise is now. When I play golf, I no longer have to worry about my contacts drying out and affecting my vision during swings, and when I dive, I don’t have to stress about my prescription. Everyday things like waking up, driving, and working out feel a lot easier too. The dry-eye issue I was most worried about also wasn’t as severe as I imagined, I just need to use eye drops as directed by the doctor.
For anyone who loves sports, wears contact lenses often, and is bothered by dry eyes, I truly think laser vision correction is worth considering. Overall, my experience getting SMILE Pro in Korea was really great, and I’m so glad I finally decided to go through with something I’ve wanted to do for a long time!
