On this DIY trip to Korea’s Daegu, I didn’t want to spend the whole time studying subway transfers, so I specifically booked a Daegu City Tour Bus ticket. I originally tried it just for the convenience of getting around, but after actually riding it, I found it totally worth it, especially for first time visitors to Daegu. It’s a great way to get to know the city quickly.
After arriving at the boarding point, it didn’t take long to spot the bright red Daegu City Tour Bus parked by the roadside.

The bus exterior is really eye-catching, and it’s decorated with colorful illustrations of Daegu’s landmark attractions, so you can recognize it from far away. Seeing it in person for the first time, it looked even newer than I expected, which made me even more excited for the trip ahead.
Once on board, I found the interior very comfortable, with spacious seating and large windows that are perfect for enjoying the views along the way. (Photo 4) Compared to regular city buses, the tour bus ride feels much more relaxed, you don’t have to worry about missing stops, and you don’t need to keep looking down at your map, you can spend that time simply taking in the scenery.
The biggest advantage of the Daegu City Tour Bus is that it links many popular attractions into one route. For first time visitors to Daegu, it’s often hard to know where everything is, but by following the tour bus route, you can quickly get a sense of where the city’s main areas are, which is great as a reference for planning the rest of your itinerary.
Along the ride, you pass plenty of downtown roads, and through the window you can see different sides of Daegu. There are lively shopping areas and also green, tree-lined streets, giving the city a comfortable, laid-back vibe. Even just sitting on the bus and watching the scenery change outside is a really enjoyable way to travel.
The stops along the route are set up well, and each tour bus stop sign is clearly marked.

Even if it’s your first time riding, it’s not confusing at all. The stop sign shows route details and explains the stops, which is very foreigner-friendly. As long as you check the timetable in advance, you can freely plan when to get off and when to hop back on.
One of the attractions that caught my attention the most along the way was Daegu’s well-known landmark, 83 Tower.

The tall tower stands out under the blue sky, and you can clearly see it even from a distance. The weather was great that day, and with the clear sky, the overall view was beautiful. Although I didn’t plan to go up the tower this time, just seeing it from the bus was already worth snapping a few photos as a memory.

Besides the famous attractions, another great thing about the tour bus is that you can observe what local life looks like. Along the way you’ll see residential neighborhoods, parks, markets, and commercial streets, helping visitors get to know Daegu more deeply, beyond just the top tourist spots.
When I travel independently, what I dread most is constantly transferring and accidentally heading the wrong way. Sometimes, just finding the right exit for a subway transfer can take a lot of time. But after taking the tour bus, there was absolutely nothing to worry about, you just sit back and wait until the next attraction. For anyone who wants a relaxing trip, it really saves both energy and time.
The atmosphere on the bus is also very comfortable. There weren’t too many passengers, so the overall ride quality was great. You can quietly enjoy the scenery outside, take a few photos now and then, and soak up those rare travel moments. If you’re traveling with seniors or doing a family trip with kids, I think the tour bus is also an excellent option.
For me, the Daegu City Tour Bus isn’t just transportation, it feels more like a moving city tour. Seeing different neighborhoods and buildings through the window gave me a more complete understanding of Daegu, and helped me figure out which places are worth coming back to for a deeper visit.
If you’re only staying for one or two days, I’d highly recommend taking a full loop on the tour bus first. Use half a day to a full day to grasp the overall layout of the city, then plan the rest of your itinerary based on your interests. It’s much more efficient than randomly rushing between attractions from the start.
Overall, I think the Daegu City Tour Bus offers excellent value for money. The bus is comfortable, the stop signs are clear, the route is well planned, and it connects many popular attractions in a short time. From the bright red tour bus and the comfy interior

to the clear and easy-to-understand tour bus stop signs, and even spotting Daegu’s landmark 83 Tower along the way, this trip left a strong impression.
If I travel to Daegu again in the future, I’d still consider riding the tour bus again. For first time DIY travelers in Daegu, it’s a relaxed and efficient way to explore, you don’t need to spend tons of time researching transportation, and you can comfortably enjoy the city scenery and major attractions. I recommend it to anyone who wants to get to know Daegu easily and save time on transit planning, I’m sure it will make your trip smoother and more fulfilling.
