On this trip to Busan, I purposely planned a more relaxed day, visiting Hill Spa to experience Korea’s jjimjilbang culture. I usually spend my travels rushing between attractions and taking photos for check-ins, and sometimes I end up forgetting the most important part of traveling, truly unwinding. So this time, I chose a jjimjilbang where I could soak in the baths while enjoying ocean views, giving myself a proper break during the trip.

Hill Spa sits on higher ground near Haeundae, and from the outside it looks like a low-key resort hotel. The white building with its European-style design feels instantly calming at first glance.
When I arrived, the weather was a little overcast, which actually made the whole place feel even quieter. Once you step through the entrance, you can immediately sense a completely different pace from the city, as if you’ve temporarily escaped the crowds and noise.
For first-timers trying a Korean jjimjilbang, the atmosphere here is very welcoming and doesn’t feel overly complicated.

After entering, the first thing you receive is a locker key.
Many jjimjilbangs in Korea use a wristband key or numbered system, which makes changing and storing your belongings super convenient. The lockers are spacious enough for a backpack, jacket, and personal items, so you can settle in and fully enjoy the relaxation time ahead.
One thing I really love about Korean jjimjilbangs is how naturally everyone puts their phones away and keeps that time for themselves. No work messages, no schedule pressure, you just focus on enjoying the moment.
After changing, it was time to officially begin this soothing experience.

What I looked forward to most was, of course, the ocean-view baths.
The moment you walk into the bathing area, a full wall of floor-to-ceiling windows comes into view. Outside is the coastline of Busan and the skyline of distant high-rises, the view is incredibly open and expansive.
Back in Taiwan, when I go for a soak it’s usually mountain scenery, so being able to bathe in Busan while taking in the sea feels completely different.
The warm water paired with that wide-open view makes you relax without even noticing. Even if you do nothing at all, just sitting quietly by the pool and zoning out is its own kind of enjoyment.
Sometimes the most precious part of traveling isn’t how many places you visit, it’s being able to truly stop and rest.

Besides the regular hot pools, Hill Spa also has a massage spa pool.
The water jets feel amazingly comfortable, especially after a full day of walking, the fatigue in my legs and shoulders was noticeably relieved.
For the previous few days in Busan, I’d been hitting over 20,000 steps almost every day, riding the subway, walking uphill, shopping, and with the muggy weather, my body was honestly pretty tired.
Once I got into the massage pool, I could feel my muscles slowly loosening up. Watching sunlight sparkle across the sea, that sense of ease is really hard to put into words.
If you’re traveling independently, I highly recommend scheduling Hill Spa for the later part of your itinerary, it’s a great way to recover your energy.

There’s also a platform inside where you can enjoy the sea view.
From up high, you can see the Haeundae coastline and the cluster of high-rise buildings in the distance. Even though the sea had a light haze that day, it was still a spectacular sight.
When the breeze comes through, it feels wonderful and helps you forget the tiredness from the journey for a while.
Many visitors stop here to take photos and capture their own Busan memories.
I personally preferred standing quietly by the railing, taking in the view, watching boats move slowly along, and feeling the unique rhythm of a port city.

Next to the lounge area, there’s also a simple snack bar.
In Korean jjimjilbang culture, besides bathing, another big pleasure is enjoying all kinds of snacks. On-site, you can buy drinks, ice cream, and simple hot food.
After a soak, having a refreshing milk ice cream really does feel like pure happiness.
Plenty of Koreans also sit in the lounge chatting, watching TV, or taking a quick nap. Unlike typical tourist attractions, this place feels more like part of local everyday relaxation.
Seeing Korean families soaking and resting together also gives you a sense of local lifestyle and culture.
What attracted me most about Hill Spa isn’t actually just the ocean view.
It brings together bathing, resting, and scenery into one space that’s perfect for slowing down. When everyone else is rushing to check in at the most popular spots, this place offers a chance to recharge both body and mind.
Travel doesn’t have to mean packing every day with a full schedule, sometimes setting aside half a day to truly relax makes the whole trip feel much more comfortable.
Especially on independent trips, you’re often planning transportation and routes on your own, and you end up walking a lot each day. If you can dedicate an afternoon to resting at a jjimjilbang, it not only eases fatigue, it also improves the quality of the rest of your trip.
The biggest takeaway from this Hill Spa experience was that it helped me rediscover the pace travel is meant to have.
Soaking in warm water while looking out at the ocean, slowly eating ice cream in the lounge, standing on the viewing platform to admire the sea, these ordinary little moments became one of the most memorable parts of the journey.
If I come back to Busan in the future, I think I’ll still make time to return here. Because some places are worth revisiting not because they’re flashy, but because they truly help you relax.
For travelers visiting Busan independently for the first time, if you want to experience Korea’s jjimjilbang culture while also having ocean views and a comfortable environment, I think Hill Spa is absolutely worth adding to your must-visit list. You get to experience local Korean culture, release the tiredness built up during your trip, and recharge your energy for what comes next.
