“Gohjae” (고호재), a multi-purpose cultural space run by the Korean government inside Korea House, lets travelers soak up Korea’s old-world charm while enjoying traditional Korean desserts!

Gohjae offers an exquisite, single-person Joseon-era royal tea snack set, letting you enjoy seasonal sweets in a peaceful traditional hanok and courtyard.

✨ Royal tea sweets, made with seasonal ingredients as the seasons change (like candied kumquats, baked steamed rice cake, hangwa, etc.), paired with traditional flower tea.

✨ Hanok vibes: Enjoy the experience in a traditional hanok, perfect for photos and a relaxed, ritual-like moment.

✨ Wear whatever you like, I figured it’s not every day you get to dine in a traditional hanok, so I wore hanbok too.

📍 Address: 10 Toegye-ro 36-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul (inside Korea House), near Chungmuro Station.
🕒 How to book: Reservation only (specific time slots available each day), it’s recommended to book in advance via platforms like Creatrip!

Before heading over for my meal in the morning, I stopped by “Gigibebe Hanbok” near Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul to pick out the right hanbok!

🔔 4 hours, a longer plan for exploring.
🔔 All-day rental, valid until closing time that day (not a 24-hour rental).

✨ Theme/special hanbok: With embroidery and organza (sheer overskirt), a more modern design feel (about ₩15,000 to ₩18,000 for 2 hours).
✨ Princess/premium hanbok: Even more glamorous with lace, embroidery, or layered gradient organza (about ₩20,000 for 2 hours).
✨ Queen/character hanbok: Palace-style outfits like a king, queen, or warrior guard (about ₩25,000 for 2 hours).

✨ Shoes and hat accessories: King’s hat, straw hat, special shoes, or a warm winter vest.
✨ Extra try-on fee: Shops usually limit how many times you can try outfits, if you want to switch after you’ve already gotten into your first set because you don’t like it, you may be charged an extra try-on fee (about ₩5,000).
