This time on my trip to Busan, besides planning popular sights and great food, I also set aside a full day to experience Korea’s jjimjilbang culture.
I used to think a jjimjilbang was just hot baths, steam rooms, and a resting area, but after I actually visited Hill Spa in Haeundae, I realized the biggest highlight here is the ocean view.
Enjoying the jjimjilbang while looking out over the Haeundae coastline feels completely different from the usual image people have of a jjimjilbang.
If you like slow travel, I truly think this place is worth setting aside half a day, or even a full day, to enjoy at an unhurried pace.

Once you arrive at Hill Spa, you can see an overview of the facilities on each floor right by the entrance.
In addition to separate men’s and women’s saunas, there’s also a jjimjilbang area, relaxation spaces, and an outdoor footbath zone.
The first time I came, I was a little worried I might get lost, but the signage is very clear, so it’s easy to understand where everything is.
Just reading the floor guide already had me looking forward to what was coming next.
After all, Korean jjimjilbangs are one of the most recommended experiences for travelers.

After you check in, the staff will give you a locker key.
Most Korean jjimjilbangs use this wristband-style key, it opens your locker and also makes it easy to pay for things inside.
I found it super convenient, there’s no need to keep carrying cash or a room card around.
After changing, it was officially time to start today’s relaxation session.
Even though it was just one part of my itinerary, from the moment I stepped inside, it felt like my pace naturally slowed down.
When I reached the lounge area, I finally understood why so many people recommend this place.

The floor-to-ceiling windows open right onto the ocean view.
Even though it was a bit foggy that day, you could still see the sea stretching out wide.
Lots of people were lying down by the windows, some scrolling on their phones, some resting with their eyes closed, and others just quietly staring out and zoning out.
I found a spot by the window and sat down.
Looking out at the water in the distance, I could feel myself relaxing right away.
When I’m working, I’m constantly staring at a computer or my phone, so I rarely get a chance to just switch off like this.
And these slow, easy moments during a trip are often the most unforgettable.

After soaking for a while, I started to feel hungry.
I noticed a lot of people eating instant noodles in the lounge, so I decided to try one of the classic Korean jjimjilbang combos too.
Hot instant noodles with an ocean view somehow tasted unexpectedly amazing.
Maybe it was because I’d just worked up a sweat, or maybe it was just the happy travel mood, but even a familiar bowl of ramen tasted better than usual.
This kind of simple happiness often becomes the most real memory of a trip.

I went back to the lounge area again.
This time, I chose a beanbag sofa and soaked up a little sunshine.
The natural light pouring in through the huge windows made the whole space feel especially comfortable.
Some people were napping, while others were chatting with friends.
Overall, the atmosphere was very calm and never felt noisy.
I just sat there, staring out at the ocean and daydreaming.
No next stop planned, no rushing.
Just enjoying the view in front of me and this rare, unhurried time.
Sometimes the most precious part of traveling isn’t how many places you go, it’s being willing to stop and truly feel the moment.

It’s also a spot I personally really love.
Once you step outside, you can enjoy the scenery around Haeundae even more directly.
The sky was a little hazy, but you could still make out the tall buildings in the distance and the coastline.
Standing here with the sea breeze felt incredibly refreshing.
I also took a few photos as souvenirs.
When many people visit Busan, they usually plan stops like Haeundae, Gwangalli, or the capsule train, but honestly, finding a place like this to quietly enjoy the ocean view is also a wonderful way to travel.
Coming to Hill Spa this time, the biggest thing I felt was “slow.”
Slowly soaking, slowly sweating, slowly watching the sea, slowly resting.
Compared to typical sightseeing, there’s no pressure to rush here.
You don’t need to keep moving nonstop or lining up just to check in for photos.
Instead, it gives you a chance to truly relax.
Especially if you’ve already been traveling for a few days and your legs are starting to feel tired, setting aside half a day to rest here feels amazing.
Even if, like me, you just want to find somewhere to zone out, you’ll still have a great experience.
If you asked me what the most relaxing part of my Busan trip was, Hill Spa would definitely rank near the top.
It doesn’t have the buzz of a famous attraction, and it doesn’t have the flashy energy of a shopping district.
But it does have a comfortable atmosphere that makes you want to stay for a long time.
The ocean view, the jjimjilbang, the resting spaces, and simple food all come together to create a truly soothing travel moment.
For anyone who loves slow travel, this isn’t just a jjimjilbang, it’s a place to step away from a busy life for a while and simply breathe.
Next time I come back to Busan, I think I’ll still make time to return here, find a seat by the window, quietly stare out at the sea, and enjoy traveling at my own pace.
