If you’re fond of animals like I am, you’re gonna love Zoolung Zoolung - Seoul’s ZOO with many interaction options! The location I have been to is Yeongdeungpo, but from what I have seen, they have other locations too. Let me describe how my experience went!

One characteristic of this ZOO, that might make you think "Woah, they only do such things in Korea” is… the ZOO is located in the shopping mall 😅
Yes, if you look for it, you go to the shopping mall and head to the highest floor! I had a little struggle finding it because I couldn’t quite believe it.
The regular ticket price is 29 000 WON, but my ticket was included in the Discover Seoul Pass, therefore, the entrance was free!
With my ticket I have received free snack for the chosen animals and a guide.

Before the entrance, there was a cute photospot, which was a great start to the experience :)
Next, there was a very pretty area (and yes, it’s ZOO’s area, even though it doesn’t look like it!) with some flowers - definitely a nice decoration!

Once they let us in, we could begin our adventure.
It was not a typical ZOO, where there’s a huge land and animals are afar. It was a quite small space, where all of the animals could be seen very, very closely!

First, I was able to see birds - not only parrots, but also birds in the water. They were very lovely! I saw a kid get scared of the parrot, as they like to get loud 😅 But rest assured, you’re safe there as long as you follow the rules.

As for the birds in the water, I was really impressed at how close they were!
And, I was able to feed them with the treats provided. Since I was scared of getting bit, I threw some in the water…
Next, there were monkeys! I never had an opportunity to see such exotic animal so up close.

They seemed very relaxed, just munching on their snack. I just kept staring at them in disbelief. They weren’t scared either. It was a very unique experience compared to seeing such animals only on photos or from afar!

My disbelief however didn’t end there. Next up, I had a lemur come up close to check out my phone! It felt like we almost touched noses - how insane is that with a completely wild animal?

Moving forward, I found some iconic capybaras! It was their feeding time which guests could participate in! Sadly, the person in front of me was the last one that was able to do so.
Nevertheless, I loved being so close to those animals, after gently leaning on the fence, I even had one look up at me! Aren’t such interactions incredible?
Maybe I have missed out on feeding a capybara, but there was something even better waiting for me - feeding little otters with big appetites!

There was a line, and at the front, there was a staff member that gave me something looking like small cucumber pieces - but don’t take my word for it 😅
It was an experience I remember to this day. The little otters paws grabbed a snack from my hand and munched on it so cutely! That truly is something you only experience in Korea.

At the end, there were adorable penguins. Both in aquariums, as well as tanning, like this chubby sweet guy. As a penguin lover, I spent a good while just staring at them - again, from really up close!
After I was done, I left and was back at the mall, which was great for anyone who would get hungry after time at the ZOO, or just fancied shopping.
Zoolung Zoolung was an incredible experience. Their primary target is kids, and you can tell by majority of guests being children with their parents. Nevertheless, I had an amazing time. I have never encountered a place that would let me connect with animals on such level, and I loved every bit of it. It’s a memory that will stay for a very long time 🩵
