A Trip from Seoul to Busan

Busan has to be second, most popular destination after Seoul in Korea, right? It has so much charm to it, with the history and iconic shore view merged with tall sky scrapers. Of course, I had to visit it, so in this post I will write all about it, hopefully you will find it helpful if you’re considering a trip there!

I went to Busan during my first trip in Korea, which means I wasnt that familiar with the country, but I still managed with no issues - I hope that reassures anyone that worries about going!
There are multiple ways to go to Busan, but I decided to go by train - the slower variant, since there are also faster ones, but they cost more. That means, I had around 5-hour trip across entire South Korea, and I really loved it! The train was neat and comfortable. I had multiple snacks and watched the view outside the window with excitement.

Upon arrival, it got a little difficult since I had to carry my suitcase to the bus stop, and with transfer, get to my hotel located next to the beach (however, Naver Maps worked perfectly fine, so getting lost was not an issue). Once I arrived and left suitcase at the hotel, it was time to explore.
My first choice was the iconic Gamcheon Village! I loved every bit of it - so colorful, almost child-like and nostalgic… Truly amazing place to be in. There are various gift shops which i highly recommend! I loved all the unique souvenirs they offered.

As I walked, I saw a stall selling mochi jelly, which sounded delicious and also looked very interesting and unique! Sadly, it ended up being a waste of money, since it didn’t have any flavor at all, was unpleasantly cold, and didn’t match sauces whatsoever. But it’s alright, at least I was left with a pretty picture of it 😅

There were many paintings around, as well as photo spots. Also, there weren’t many people either, which was very lovely - don’t expect crowds like in Seoul!

After thorough exploration with many photos, I decided to head to the Haeundae Beach!
They played K-pop songs there which was pretty awesome and I’m sure every fan will enjoy! Despite it being summer, the beach was pretty empty, you could however see many older people walking along the shore. The view was obviously stunning - it’s the only place in the world where I’ve ever seen sky scrapers like this decorate the scenery of the beach.

After spending time at the beach and watching the sunset, it was time to head for dinner.
I had bibimbap at a random restaurant located near the beach, but it was honestly the worst bibimbap I’ve ever eaten 🤣 Possibly misunderstanding with the owner who didn’t seem too friendly. Nevertheless, I got to eat something healthy and I left full, so it was okay.

Next day it was time to head for breakfast to Snoopy’s Cafe! I would like to get into more detail about it in my next post, so please check it out if you’re a Snoopy fan :) I will just say it was 10/10 and I’d love to go again!

After breakfast, it was time to go beach again! I loved every little bit of it. Beach in Busan is truly different from other destinations, for example Spain or Egypt - very popular countries for travelers from Europe. In Busan, it’s way more empty and peaceful. Peaceful is the best way to describe it. I’d pick a Korean beach any day!

For dinner, I chose a local restaurant where very kind workers served me the most delicious bulgogi soup I’ve ever had. Seriously, I miss it everyday.

Then it was time to head to Haedong Yonggugsa temple! Truly magnificent experience, it’s a masterpiece. It was easy to get there by bus. All the statues merged with nature looked so beautiful. When I actually got to the temple, I couldn’t stop staring and taking pictures. I refused to leave, because the view was simply too perfect. I bought souvenir bracelets for my mom and aunt :)

After temple visit, it was time to try another viral attraction - Haeundae Blueline Park. I went there by bus with no issues. There were various snacks being sold for your ride - I got chicken with little star-shaped potatoes! It was yummy, but the sauce was pretty spicy. The ride was great :) It allows you to see many gorgeous sights in the most unique way possible! I loved it a lot, it was very memorable.

I admit I had some struggle going back home, since I had to walk a while to the bus stop and also wait a bit. Maybe because it was late. Not a big issue though, I ended up arriving at hotel safely!
Another day meant another adventure - next attraction, which I discovered accidentally and haven’t heard of before - is a green park called Dongbaekseom Island, right next to Haeundae Beach. So when you go to the bottom of the beach, you will see a lot of greenery but also wooden paths to walk around. So, it turns into a wonderful nature park right by the shore. There was also a mermaid statue there. When you complete the walk, you will arrive at the Nurimaru APEC House, which was random, but pretty nice 😅 I highly recommend visiting this park. The views are wonderful and I remember & miss it up to this day.

After this adventure, it was time to head home. I arrived to Busan train station without any issues and head to Seoul.

I personally enjoyed the trip a lot and believe it’s a must for any Korea lover and visitor. However, I didn’t enjoy the city part that much - just the beach. So, if I were to come again to the hotel next to the beach, just to enjoy this peaceful side and possibly that breathtaking park, I would totally come. As for the city, I think I prefer Seoul.
Nevertheless, I can’t deny how unique and charming Busan is, and everyone should give it a try themselves :)
