Convenience Store Discoveries

There are almost as many blogs and posts about convenience stores as there seem to be things to experience, but I wanted to share my favorites so far!
This is not a list of everything you need to check off, or even quintessentially Korean trendy foods, but these brought me joy! Maybe you'll try something new or remember at item you like snd forgot existed. Here goes!
First, I have no c-store brand loyalty. There are two especially ever-present conglomerates, and I happily buy from any of them. I'd suggest trying both mainstays before making a decision on who you think has better selection, prices and location.

Honey butter chips exceeded my skepticism- so delicious!
If you drink alcohol, these are the places to experiment! Loads of single-drink or portion cans and bottles exist, domestic and import alike. Great way to try something out of your comfort zone- you're not seated in a social situation feeling pressure or wanting to be polite. Dislike it? Toss it! Most are kept in the cooler so they're ready to go.

The ramen wall from the main image photo was taken in Hongdae, where it would take months to try every noodle option! That was the most extensive inventory I've run across so far.

One great thing about these c-stores is that they always have plenty of ice cups with lids and straws for any bagged drink you try. The bagged drink usually has a description on it of which size cup you'll need to grab from the separate freezer section.
I bought one to make a walking cocktail pf sparkling juice and local spirits. I really enjoyed this specific wine, because it had zero added sugar (according to label), which has been hard to find! Naturally flavored bottles available in stores without extra additives have such a clean taste, this was my favorite so far on its own and later mixed with juice.
These chips were just as delightful as the honey butter ones!

C- store kimbap is my current tip choice for a balanced meal on the go. You can eat it standing or seated, without utensils or sauces if need be. Great way to make sure you're getting a little bit of fresh vegetables and protein in your day! These consistently are cheap and fresh, so they popped up in my rotation frequently.

Coming into summer season, don't forget about the individual frozen sweets! I succumbed to this cutie because of its look, but the peach flavor and fondant were surprisingly nice!
My favorite fruity icecream is the Korean melon popsicle stick with some sort of cream base added to it. I have a photo, but it looks inappropriate and gross, so you'll just have to go find one to try for yourself!
If you're new to these places, just know thay they're very Korean- efficient and fast as possible. Take your time! Just know what you want and have your payment method ready before it's your turn in line.
There are places to sit and arrange your snacks inside, so you can take care your time getting situated beflre heading back out to explore.
