Most Popular CAFES in Seoul [2026]

It’s no secret that Seoul is overflowing with cafes. During every trip I take there, visiting cafes somehow becomes one of my favorite activities without even planning it. Sometimes I would search for specific viral places online, and other times I would randomly notice a pretty building while walking and decide to go inside. What makes Korean cafes feel so different from many cafes abroad is how much effort is put into the entire experience. It never feels like “just coffee.” The interiors, packaging, desserts, music, and even the way drinks are served often feel carefully designed to create unique mood.
During my recent trips to Seoul, these three viral cafes ended up becoming some of my favorite experiences, not only because they were absolutely beautiful, but because I genuinely enjoyed the atmosphere, desserts, and time spent there.
1. CAFE HIGHWAIST

The first cafe is Highwaist, which I visited both in Ikseondong and later again inside Hyundai Department Store in Pangyo because I liked it so much after the first visit!
The moment I entered for the first time, I immediately understood why it became so popular online. The entire cafe has a cozy old English aesthetic that almost feels unreal compared to the busy streets outside. The wooden furniture, vintage decorations, lace details, and desserts displayed behind the counter made me feel like I entered a small bakery somewhere in Europe rather than a cafe in Seoul.
What I personally loved the most was how calming the atmosphere felt. Even though the cafe was trendy and full of people taking photos, it somehow still felt relaxing instead of overwhelming. There was soft music playing in the background, lovely people chatting, and that wonderful smell...
During my first visit, I was nervous because my Korean is still limited, but the workers were incredibly patient and kind while taking my order. Small experiences like that honestly make traveling feel much less stressful for me, especially in popular places where I worry about slowing people down.
I ordered milk tea together with earl grey cake. The desserts looked adorable, but what surprised me most was that they tasted as good as they looked - sometimes viral cafes focus mainly on aesthetics and the food ends up disappointing, but Highwaist genuinely felt balanced. Everything tasted fresh, soft, and carefully made. Milk tea was absolutely delicious and rich in it’s earl grey flavor (great combination with my cake!) combined with milky taste.
After enjoying my first visit so much, I ended up visiting the second branch later during another trip because I wanted to experience that atmosphere again. Honestly, both times I made sure to eat very slowly as I really didn’t want to leave.
2. PANIER DE M. MOONI

The second viral cafe I visited was Panier de M. Mooni in Gangnam, and the experience felt completely different from Highwaist. While Highwaist felt warm and vintage, Mooni was modern, elegant, giving me princess-vibes.
Before even entering the building, you can notice a signeture, huge black bow! The entire cafe is designed mostly in white and black tones, and almost every corner looks like it was made specifically for Instagram photos. While sitting there, I constantly saw people carefully taking pictures of their desserts or filming little TikToks with their friends.
What I remember most from this cafe was probably choosing what to order because everything looked SO cute. I spent several minutes staring at the display trying to decide because every dessert looked prettier than the previous one. Eventually, I grabbed a pink turtle-shaped dessert filled with custard and jam, a cream cheese bear dessert, and ordered a milk tea decorated with tiny teddy bear cookies.
I could not get enough of how cute the food was, whoever prepares it must be so talented. I spent a while taking photos before eating because I did not want to ruin the designs immediately. The desserts were very sweet and rich, I enjoyed every single bite.
The workers were also very friendly, and ordering felt easy because they were comfortable communicating in English, which helped me relax and enjoy the experience more instead of stressing about misunderstanding.
What made Mooni memorable for me was the gorgeous interior, one of a kind, adorable desserts and peaceful atmosphere in which I really enjoyed my sweet treat.
3. TEDDY BEURRE HOUSE

The final cafe I visited was Teddy Beurre House inside The Hyundai Seoul in Yeouido, and this one probably felt the most fancy out of all three.
The moment I walked in, I was surrounded by teddy bear decorations, colorful pastries, cute packaging, and people carrying trays full of beautiful desserts. Compared to the clean elegance of Mooni, Teddy Beurre House felt much more lively and maximalist. There was so much happening visually that I kept looking around while waiting for my order.
One thing I personally appreciated was how many pastry options they had. Sometimes trendy cafes focus more on appearance and only offer a small menu of sweet desserts which end up making me nauseous combined with sweet drink, but Teddy Beurre had both sweet and savory options. I ended up ordering a cream croissant and milk tea topped with an adorable teddy bear paw decoration.
Even small details made the experience feel memorable to me. When my drink arrived, I remember immediately smiling because the teddy paw on top was honestly so cute. It is such a tiny detail, but those are exactly the kinds of things Korean cafes do really well. They turn ordinary desserts or drinks into something fun and memorable.
The cafe was extremely busy because it is located inside one of Seoul’s most popular malls, so finding a seat took a little patience. After waiting a short while, I managed to get a table and finally relax. People were all kind about it, so there is no need to worry. Watching people walk around carrying cute pastries while sitting there honestly made the atmosphere feel exciting rather than stressful.
The croissant itself was buttery, soft, and genuinely delicious. Once again, it did not feel like a cafe relying only on visuals. The taste matched the presentation, which I think is one of the reasons the cafe remains so popular despite always being crowded.

These three cafes all had completely different concepts and atmospheres, but what made them memorable to me was the experience itself rather than simply the aesthetics. Each place felt exciting in its own way, and visiting them became one of my favorite memories from Seoul.
I think that is why cafe culture is such a huge part of life there. It is not only about drinking coffee or eating dessert, but about spending time, relaxing, taking photos, discovering new trends, and creating small memories during your day. After personally visiting all three places, I would happily recommend them to my friend or anyone wanting to experience Seoul’s viral cafe culture for themselves.
