This time, when I came to Korea in April, besides the most important thing, cherry blossom viewing, I knew I absolutely had to get some aesthetic treatments done in Korea! I am sure many of you have heard a bit about Korea’s aesthetic clinics, they have the latest techniques, the newest machines, and seriously great prices. For the same procedures, it is often noticeably cheaper than in Taiwan, and there are also many injectables that Taiwan doesn’t have, like the super popular skin-regeneration ingredient, Rejuran. Not to mention non-invasive treatments like ultrasound and radiofrequency, which are also among the most in-demand items in Korean aesthetics.
It’s a pity that tax refunds for aesthetic treatments will end in 2025, but I found an amazing deal on Creatrip! If you book one of the designated partner hospitals through Creatrip, complete your treatment, and upload your receipt, you can get 10% cashback. If you join Creatrip VIP, you can get 15% cashback, which is actually a better deal than a tax refund.

This time I booked DayBeau Clinic in Gangnam through Creatrip. The clinic’s interior uses an orange color palette while still keeping a Korean hanok vibe, it is easily the most unique-looking aesthetic clinic I’ve seen so far. I arrived at my reserved time, but there happened to be a lot of people getting consultations in the same time slot. What surprised me most was that on-site, besides Korean, there were consultations happening in Chinese, English, Japanese, and Thai. The clinic didn’t separate time slots by language, and since there were especially many Chinese-speaking customers, the wait for Chinese consultations was particularly long. The staff immediately brought out sheet masks to calm everyone down, apologized, and explained the current situation and how many people were still ahead. At least it didn’t feel like being left waiting with no idea how long it would take.

In the end, because the wait for Chinese was too long, and since I speak a little Korean, the consultant asked whether I could do the consultation in Korean. If yes, I wouldn’t have to wait as long, but I could also choose to keep waiting for a Chinese-speaking consultant. I didn’t want to wait anymore, so I asked the consultant to speak a bit slower and did the consultation in Korean. One thing I should mention is that this place feels more like an assembly-line style aesthetic clinic, you won’t have a doctor consult with you directly. If that matters a lot to you, you may want to consider it!

The consultant was very friendly during the process. I had already thought through a few treatments I was interested in before coming in, and for each one I asked about, the consultant still explained using drawings or by showing videos and images on the computer. It helped me understand how the treatment would be done and what it would improve. This consultant only recommended treatments based on the areas I wanted to address and didn’t push anything extra. The consultation felt comfortable and pressure-free, and once I decided what I wanted, I paid and scheduled the procedures.
Before the procedures, you need to cleanse and remove makeup yourself. The wash area is stocked with various cleansing products, there are lockers with keypad locks, and there are also hair dryers so you can tidy up your hair after everything is done before leaving.

Also, if you book DayBeau through Creatrip, in addition to the 10-15% cashback, you also get a full box of 10 sheet masks. Plus the masks they gave out because of the long wait, I instantly became a sheet mask millionaire, perfect for soothing and hydrating after the procedures.

This time I chose HIFU ultrasound, Gold Microneedling paired with Juvelook skin booster. For the HIFU, they didn’t apply numbing cream and just went straight in, the pain level was totally manageable. In some areas with less tissue, like along the jawline, it felt more like a sore, prickly sensation. After the ultrasound, they did the Gold Microneedling. For that, they apply numbing cream. During the treatment, areas like the cheeks were fine, but on bony areas like the forehead, the pain was definitely more noticeable. The doctor didn’t just do one pass across the whole face, they also reinforced certain areas, so it didn’t feel rushed just because it’s an assembly-line style clinic. During the procedure, there was also Chinese interpretation to explain which step was being done and what to watch out for. After everything, they did light therapy for recovery, and each bed has a QR code you can scan to view post-treatment instructions. The instructions are available in multiple languages too, very thoughtful!
Overall, aside from the long wait for the consultation, which was probably because each consultation took quite a while and pushed back the schedule, everything moved very quickly after that, and there wasn’t much waiting for the procedures. Besides the beautiful and comfortable environment, every staff member I met, from the front desk to the consultant, nurses, and doctor, was very kind, so there’s really no need to be too scared of an assembly-line style aesthetic clinic.
More importantly, booking through Creatrip gets you 10% cashback, and VIP boosts it to 15%, it is unbelievably worth it, and there are extra little gifts too!
