Hi there! Today I’m sharing the latest Korea travel plan recommended by a power-J Korean culture superfan who’s traveled to Korea over 30 times!
Even with a limited schedule, I’ve put together the key tips for covering the newest trends efficiently!
Whether it’s your first time or you’re a repeat visitor, I also included real prep tips for the days leading up to your trip, plus little hacks that will save you time and money while you’re there, so make sure to read to the end✨
Trip prep period✈️
Korea is easy to visit, but flight prices fluctuate a lot! So once you’ve decided your dates, start by checking flights right away👀
I use Skyscanner to search the lowest prices for round-trip and one-way options, then keep an eye on them regularly for about two weeks…!
Honestly, when it’s cheapest depends on the situation, but for dates with more travelers (including weekends), I recommend booking about a month ahead, prices can suddenly jump 2 to 3 weeks before. On the other hand, prices sometimes drop right before departure too, so check based on your schedule!
From experience, when you find the lowest price, it’s best to lock it in without hesitating. “I’ll think about it a bit” often ends up costing you the deal, so be careful⚠️
Hotels depend on what you prioritize, but location really matters! Especially for short trips, how easy it is to get around directly affects how satisfied you’ll feel, so if you’re planning to use the subway, staying near a station is a must.
Also, choose based on your itinerary, for example, if you want to do night shopping in Dongdaemun, stay around Dongdaemun, if you’re visiting beauty clinics in Gangnam, stay in Gangnam, and if you want to drink late, I recommend areas that match the vibe, like Hongdae, Apgujeong, or Jongno 3-ga🏨
You can also book hotels at a great price during sales on Creatrip, so be sure to check it out✨
Once your flight and hotel are set, here’s what you should do before the trip:
・Make reservations (beauty clinics, makeup salons, spas, etc.)
・Pack
・Electronic entry declaration, e-Arrival card
I usually map out a rough plan about a week before, then list out what I need to book, what I need to bring, and what I want to buy!
For places you want to visit, I recommend saving them to your favorites in Naver Map📍
Travel day
In addition to the basics, don’t forget a mobile battery and a plug adapter. Another thing that’s surprisingly important is your data connection.
Korea has Wi-Fi, but an eSIM is by far the easiest. Set it up in Japan, and you can use the internet the moment you arrive, which makes getting around and searching things up so much smoother.
This time I booked through Creatrip membership, it also comes with a phone number that supports calls, so I could use it for waitlist registration with no issues, and it was very affordable too, so I recommend it.
Once you arrive in Korea, how you move right after getting off the plane is actually pretty important!
That’s because at Incheon Airport, immigration can get insanely crowded depending on the timing, sometimes it takes over an hour… So if you want to get into the city as quickly as possible, if you can choose your seat, the front is best, and once you get off, the key is to walk fast (within reason, of course).
Arrival hack: this is where you can get ahead!
After you get off the plane, walk quickly to immigration. It’s simple, but it really matters, depending on timing, it can make a difference of 30 minutes or more.

Also, if you’re planning to visit Korea many times, registering for SES (automated immigration) is absolutely worth it. Once you register, you can enter without lining up next time, it’s super convenient.
Lately, even people registering for SES often get directed to the regular counters, so if you want to do SES, make sure you head to the dedicated counter!
I lined up at Counter A!

I thought it might be a bit crowded because it was around the time of a BTS concert, but after about 20 minutes, I registered successfully🙌
They also put the sticker on for me, so from next time, I can enter through the same gate as Koreans!
How to spend a real day
From here, I’ll share the plan I actually followed. It’s a bit packed, but that’s why the satisfaction level is high.
First, head straight to the airport by bus! This time, my hotel was right near an airport limousine bus stop, so I chose the bus. It’s more expensive than the train, but the seats are roomy and comfortable, so I recommend it!

Depending on the time, buses can get stuck in traffic, and there can be long lines at the stop, so choose based on your preference and destination!
After dropping off my luggage at the hotel, I quickly unpacked and headed to a beauty clinic.
📍Plan S Clinic

“Skin management” is becoming a Korea travel staple.
If you choose a treatment that finishes quickly, it won’t disrupt the rest of your schedule, so it’s a great option.
Here too, I was able to get a great deal with Creatrip’s 10% cashback campaign for beauty treatments👀
This time I only got a prescription, but with Creatrip membership you can book at a discounted rate and also get 10% cashback, so I highly recommend it♥
Since the clinic was in Myeongdong, I looked for lunch in Namdaemun! Based on great local reviews on Naver Map, I went to Nammun Dumplings and had kalmandu (kalguksu with mandu inside)!

Both the mandu and noodles were chewy and delicious, and best of all, the generous jar of kimchi they give you was absolutely amazing!
Eating Korean food in a local-feeling spot instantly makes the trip feel that much more real👏
In the late afternoon, I met up with friends and headed to The Hyundai in Yeouido!
The newest Korean trends gather here, so the key point is that you can check everything efficiently. Especially on the basement level, there are tons of popular brands and lots of pop-ups, it’s fun even just to browse.
After a quick run through The Hyundai, we moved to Yeouido Hangang Park, about a 10-minute walk away!
It was a drone show day, so it was crowded, but even arriving about 20 minutes before the show started was enough to enjoy it!

We happened to get a great spot, and watched from a little farther back, sitting on a bench and taking it easy!
It’s genuinely guaranteed to impress, so if the timing works out, definitely try to catch a drone show in Korea at least once✨
And when you think of the Hangang River, you think of Hangang ramen, right!

Buying ramen at a convenience store (definitely get an egg too!), cooking it right there, sipping a beer, and eating while watching the drone show is pure bliss🍜
Relaxing outdoors at night has a totally different kind of charm compared to daytime🍀
For dinner, we had minari samgyeopsal in Yeouido🐷
Eating it with minari (water parsley) makes it refreshing, so you can enjoy it without it feeling too heavy all the way to the end.

For the last stop, we were like, “Let’s grab a stylish drink,” so we moved to Apgujeong and went to a bar!
Near Apgujeong Rodeo, there are tons of options, from lively lounge bars with a slightly club-like vibe to calm, low-key bars🍸
This time, we visited an LP bar (record bar).

It’s a hidden gem bar that G-DRAGON has also visited on a show, and the owner speaks a bit of Japanese, plus you can request Japanese songs, so I think even people who don’t know Korean can enjoy it💿
Apgujeong overall has lots of stylish places with a calm atmosphere, so it’s perfect for winding down the day with a relaxed drink🍷
As for the general age range, it seems to go up in the order of Hongdae → Itaewon → Gangnam, just for reference!
By the way… if you drank a bit too much, I recommend gukbap the next morning!
It’s a Korean chain, but the dwaeji gukbap at Bosun Hoegwan had a great perilla flavor, tons of meat, and was really delicious😋

That’s how I was able to fully enjoy day one even with an afternoon arrival, so I hope you use this Korea itinerary as a reference!
Wrap-up
Personally, for a Korea trip with limited time, I think these are really important:

・Don’t hesitate during pre-trip prep

・Move efficiently on-site

・Make sure you have the stamina to keep going
Those things make a huge difference!
Also, so you don’t panic on-site, I recommend handling things like your eSIM and clinic reservations in advance on Creatrip🔎
Korea is compact, so if you plan well, you can have a super fulfilling trip even in a short time.
If you want to enjoy beauty, food, shopping, and scenery all in one, take notes from a power-J (the planning-type J in MBTI) and have the best time in Korea🇰🇷
