Eyes’u Studio ID photo

I don't know if anyone else is like me, but every time I have to submit an ID photo it feels really stressful.
First, different IDs require different photo sizes, and second, there are lots of rules, like smile but don’t show teeth, make sure ears and eyebrows are visible, and keep the outline clear with no shadows, etc.
In short, asking for too much and chasing realism often led to taking unflattering ID photos. This ID photo frustration eased when Korea’s wave of stylish ID photos became popular some years ago, so people no longer dread getting their pictures taken.
When did I first want to check out what makes Korea ID photo studios different? It was when the Korean skincare brand LANEIGE held a Korean-style ID photo event in Taiwan, which made me really curious. From then on I wanted to learn more about how studio hair, makeup, and shooting workflows work. On my last trip to Korea, I happened to have a gap in my work schedule, so I immediately booked an ID photo shoot at Eyes’u Studio in Seongsu-dong (@eyesu.official (Instagram): @eyesu.official).
Eyes'u Studio is located in Seongsu-dong, a popular hangout for young people and a must-visit spot for many visitors. If you're heading to Seoul Station, you probably won't miss this trendy area, and fitting an ID photo session at Eyes'u Studio into your itinerary is easy. Just take the subway to Seongsu Station, then walk about 4 minutes to get there.
Because I wanted to experience the makeup step, I arrived at Eyes'u Studio wearing a completely bare face. Since their studio offers other services besides ID photo shoots (such as personal profile photo, standard profile photo, and idol-style profile photo, which can be selected on Creatrip), I walked in on the eve of Christmas and immediately saw a dreamy, fully decorated Christmas setup. Although I booked an ID photo package, the staff were very Daebang about letting me try out their various backdrops, clothing arrangements, and the many sample photos on the walls to help you communicate and coordinate with them.

Next is probably the makeover segment most girls look forward to—makeup! Seeing the table full of cosmetics already had me internally losing my mind

But the calm manager and makeup artist were very friendly and easy to communicate with, they first asked what kind of ID the client needed the photos for and what hair and makeup they wanted. I didn’t specify which ID this set was for, so hair, makeup, and clothing were more flexible, leaning toward a simple, slightly formal look.

I think the owner was really patient and had a great temper! For some reason I couldn’t even sit straight, so almost every one or two shots she came over to adjust my posture. She guided me patiently the whole time. She probably took close to twenty photos, then let me pick my favorite one.

After the shoot, the owner will have you pick your favorite photo, and will let you sit next to her to watch the entire retouching process so you can tell her at any time if something is over-edited or under-edited.

After the photos are ready, the digital files are sent immediately via AirDrop, and the printed photos are cut and handed to you on the spot, wrapped in detail-rich Korean-style packaging

The process is relaxed and enjoyable, and the studio also has some set pieces for photo shoots, so the space is beautiful and comfortable. If you’re in Korea and want to get an ID photo, consider booking a session, it takes about an hour and won’t interfere with your travel plans, so feel free to create a keepsake and experience for yourself.
