Taking a bus to tour Jeju Island 🚌

Jeju Island trip after several years!
Usually, I go sightseeing using a rental car, but this time I decided to travel by local bus 🚌
When considering the schedule for bus travel, the key points to keep in mind are to choose tourist destinations that can be reached without transfers as much as possible, and to allow extra time than usual 😊
Taking these two into account, on this day, we decided to go to 'Sanbangsan' on the south side of Jeju Island, 'Yongmeori Coast,' and 'Daepo Columnar Joint Zone.'
After choosing the destination, we will check the local bus routes🔍
After checking the bus number using the map app, it is important to search for the timetable on the internet👍
In some rural areas, bus intervals can be more than 90 minutes or only a few times a day, so be careful💦 You need to consider the sightseeing time according to the bus schedule 😅
Make sure to prepare thoroughly before your trip and then set off!
If you are going from Jeju Airport to the first destination 'Sanbangsan', you will need to transfer once, so I reserved a restaurant to have lunch while waiting for the next bus, number 202, to arrive 🤭
Jeju Island buses also accept T-money cards like in Seoul♪
Compared to Seoul's city buses, I felt that the seat spacing was very narrow😯

You can use free wi-fi in the car👍
Enjoyed the scenery outside while checking information on the next destination or confirming the bus to board next 🤭

It was a nice sunny day, so the sea was calm 😊 The sunrise was beautiful ✨
Approximately 30 minutes away from the Chinese area, get off at the bus stop 'Sanbangsan', and in front of you is Sanbangsan 😯 One of the three major mountains of Jeju Island, Sanbangsan, is quite impressive! There are many rocky mountains in Korea, but this is the first time I've seen one up close 😯

There are three temples on this Sanbozan mountain🙂
We will continue to climb the stairs quickly 🐾 I wonder how far these stairs will go...

There are small squares along the way because it is a staircase with quite a height, benches are installed so you can take a break, and you can also enjoy the view 😊 Sanfusan is located towards the sea, so you can see the beautiful horizon♪
This Yamanashi is said to be a huge mass of lava😯 amazing...

As I continued up the stairs, I came across a cave where there is a temple called 'Sanpokutsu Temple'. Due to my physical condition, I decided to stop here halfway 😣 It's still early in the day, so I decided not to push myself too hard 😑 I got some good exercise in the morning 😂
It is best to go all the way to the cave, but it is worth climbing near the entrance of Sanbōzan!

At the entrance of Sanbōzan, there is a large Yakushi Nyorai statue at 'Fumonji' ✨
The view from right near the entrance is also beautiful👍
In this area, there are no convenience stores, but there were a few stores and cafes 🙂
After taking a short break while enjoying the view, we will walk towards the next destination 'Yongmori Coast' on the seaside 🐾 It was easier than climbing the mountain because it's downhill 🤭 We will arrive in about 10 minutes.

This year, because it is the year of the dragon, I really wanted to visit the tourist spot 'Yongmeori Coast (용머리해안)'!
It seems that it is a shape that was naturally formed over a long period of time through erosion and other natural processes 😊 When viewed from above, it looks like the head of a dragon ✨
Filming location of the historical drama 'Chuno - Slave Hunter -'♪
In the past, there used to be an exhibition hall in the shape of a ship near the entrance, but it was gone when I visited this time 😯

Here, being along the coast, entry restrictions may be imposed depending on the weather and tide conditions 💦
Wow, the viewing time on this day is only 4 hours from 9 am to 1 pm 💦 I only checked the opening hours, but luckily I was able to see it, so it will be a good year again this year 😊✨ I'm glad~

At the entrance, pay an entrance fee of 2,000 won (about 220 yen) and proceed 🐾

The path was easy to walk on for a few tens of meters from the entrance, but as we moved forward, the ground turned into natural rocks...

Along the way, the ama divers were selling freshly caught turban shells and more 🤭
Surely it will be fresh and delicious, right? ✨ I would like to taste it when I have a chance to relax next time 😊

The view of the Sanbozan mountain from here is also wonderful!

As it is a natural shape, the ground may be uneven and there may be places where you have to climb up and down rocks, so it may be difficult for small children and elderly people💦

Clear seawater accumulated in a naturally occurring space and it was beautiful 😊 There were no fish 😁

Nature is really amazing!! 😯✨ I've never been there, but the Grand Canyon in America must be similar, right?

Enjoying the scenery, taking plenty of photos while circling around, and finally climbing up the stone steps to reach the exit 🤭 Last mission (laughs)
Instead of paved stairs, you need to climb rocks that have become like stairs, so there were elderly people who had to go back to the entrance along the way they came 💦
I safely made it to the exit while watching my step 😅 This completes the morning sightseeing safely!
I took the same 202 bus as when I arrived, and after having lunch at a shop I had reserved in the morning, I resumed sightseeing according to the bus schedule 😊
Heading to the third destination 'Daepo Columnar Jointing Zone (대포주상절리대)'.
The restaurant where I had lunch and the Ōura Basalt Columnar Joint Area are both located in the Chinese Area, so I took the 600 bus 🚌
Actually, I used this airport limousine bus, which is the 600 bus, multiple times on this trip 😁 It can be used to move from Jeju Airport to the Chinese area, as well as within the Chinese area. Buses come about every 20 minutes, so even if you miss one, you can rest assured 🤭 It was a reliable companion (laughs)
If you use this bus, the fare will change depending on the bus stop you get off at, so please tell the driver the bus stop you will get off at and then touch your T-money card to the machine when boarding!

The temperature may be higher than Seoul, but because Jeju Island is surrounded by the sea, the wind is strong and it felt just as cold as Seoul 😅

The entrance fee here was also 2,000 won for adults (about 220 yen).

A plaza located right at the entrance, but there were many stones stacked on top of rocks 🤭 Korean people make wishes while stacking stones like this, it seems ✨
Of course, I have also been stacking up by imitating! I hope your wishes come true! ✨

Easy-to-walk stairs 😊 There are not many stairs or moving distances, so I think even elderly people can sightsee without any problem 👍

Here, it seems that the lava erupted from Mount Kandara cooled and solidified in seawater, creating shapes like this 😯 The same can be said for the mountains and beaches we saw earlier - nature can truly create a variety of shapes ✨
There are some that exceed 30 meters in length! Here, you can enjoy both the sea and the columnar joint zone up close 😊 Recommended for Korea's largest columnar joint zone👍

In the park, there are sotetsu and palm trees, as well as Toruharuban, so you can feel the atmosphere of Jeju Island 😊 When you come to Jeju Island, taking a commemorative photo with Toruharuban is a must♪ This park is also recommended for taking memorable photos👍
Looking at the photos alone, you wouldn't think it's midwinter, right? Tropical atmosphere ✨
In this way, after finishing the sightseeing at three tourist spots planned for the day, we took the 600 bus back to Jeju City 🚌 By the time we arrived at the hotel, it was already evening, so we took a walk around the hotel area 🐾
This time, I used a local bus for the first time to tour Jeju Island, and I realized that I can enjoy it enough if the tourist spots I want to visit are not scattered in distant areas 😊
It is possible to sightsee by bus even if you are not in Jeju City👍 Also, we recommend using the 'Naver Map App' during sightseeing! It's convenient because you can see how many minutes until the next bus arrives✨
Doing research beforehand is also enjoyable, which is the charm of traveling! It was a fun trip from start to finish ♪

I would like to plan a bus sightseeing trip in a different area this time 😁
